Chelsea Fan Tweets Surprise as Jose Mourinho Sits Next to Him During Win
BY IAN RODGERS (WORLD FOOTBALL STAFF WRITER) ON OCTOBER 20, 2013

One of the gambles of being a football supporter attending a match is never knowing who will be sitting next to you during the match.

Will you get the noisy know-it-all? Will you get the moaning bloke, who even criticises the loss of the toss?

Conversely, you could find yourself plonked next to the man or woman of your dreams or a new lifelong friend.

However, supporter Sean Buxton was granted the surprise of his life as he watched Chelsea defeat Cardiff City 4-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Buxton was sat behind the dugout for the game in West London and found himself as the unexpected star of the show.

Jose Mourinho was sent to the stand in the 70th minute of the game after fiercely disputing a warning given to full-back Branislav Ivanovic for time-wasting at a throw-in by referee Anthony Taylor, as Ben Findon of the Sunday Telegraph reported.

The infuriated Chelsea boss moved to the rear of the team's dugout, but the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan head coach was ordered to move further back into the stands among the fans.

Luckily for Mourinho, there was a handy empty seat waiting for him a few rows back. Even luckier for Buxton, it was the seat next to him.

Buxton took a picture of himself sitting alongside Mourinho and tweeted the evidence from the game, via his Twitter account @Sean_Buxtonzz.

The resulting tweet found its way on to BBC highlights programme Match of the Day, placing Buxton firmly in the media limelight.

The fan even joked that Mourinho was taking up more space than he should in the stands.

Chelsea went on to win the game 4-1, but the victory will mean little to the supporter who has become a Special One himself this weekend.
