...there should be no shame today.
4-1 flattered Chelsea and we gave them a good game.
Whereas we were nowhere near as composed as we were against Fulham, we were playing a MUCH better team.
The only player that I thought was poor was Theophile-Catherine who got caught out too often. But again, he was up against Hazard who cost £30m more than he did, had a really good game.
Chelsea's highly contentious first goal was definitely the turning point, but the ref had a long look at the linesmen as he let play continue. It is typical of our luck that the defenders scramble back only for the ball to go straight to Hazard, to score. It would be easy to blame Marshall and he should have been more alert but he has been fantastic for us so far this season.
Ironically, with the score at 1-1 after 65 mins and City looking reasonable value despite sitting back and soaking up the pressure, it was Mourinho who brought on Torres and went 3 at the back - and they scored almost straight away!
Before going straight back to four at the back....
Again, we looked the more likely to score at 2-1 with Kim making a real difference when he came on and bringing a good save from Cech.
When their third went in most of know that it was a long way back but the team kept playing neat football.
But a proud effort and one that I am not disheartened about at all.
My bigger concern is the run that we are now on with some really tricky games coming up!
