Perhaps so but 4-1 and you can't use that excuse.

ok, I'll play, who do you blame then?

Our lack of goal scoring threat is to blame and poor defending, we have now kept 1 clean sheet in 8 games. Just can't see where the goals are going to come from.

This time the whole setup but Tan must take responsibility for this situation.

Marshall

Re: So who to blame this week

I'd imagine that the last week or so has been a disaster behind the scenes and a huge distraction for the the players and staff.

Playing away at one of the top sides in Europe always had the potential to result in a hiding. Even more so given recent events.

Tan's caused a huge schism within the club so he can shoulder the majority of blame as far as I'm concerned.

Ruddy be fukt, he couldn't score in a brothel. We need a goal scorer desperately!

This week has been a fecking joke but if you seriously think we should be getting something away to chelsea that is an even bigger joke

Re: So who to blame this week

Arguably with a different keeper it would have been 1-1. So marshall.

But lack of of scoring is our big problem.

Come on get a grip, they take off Mata and bring on Oscar...

We brought on Campbell, Kim and Fecking Rudy! Rudy couldn't even get a season ticket at Chelsea!

You have to say, the whole team need to take a hit on this one, they were just overawed by Chelsea and I don't give a damn what Malkey says, they felt inferior to Chelsea. I thought Mutch huffed and puffed and did ok, when kim and Campbell came on I think they had a go, Whitts was ok in parts, after that i'm starting to struggle.

And why not? That is the problem with the team at the moment, they do not believe. I'm not saying we are as good as other teams, but we have to do what is best for us and play to our strengths. Marshall humping EVERY ball up to odemwhingie, when he is marked by double his size centre halves is not playing to our strengths, and that is all we did all afternoon. This must come from the training ground!!!

Re: So who to blame this week

Stupid error by Marshall let them back in the game after us taking the lead. Tactical genius by Mourinho going 3 at the back playing Torres and Etoo up front gives them the lead. We chase the game and start to look dangerous. They go to a back four again and take off a striker. We throw everything at them and get caught short at the back twice. Ok Marshall had a stinker, we'll give him that one, but I saw enough out there to think we can win plenty of games this season. Listen, we got beat by a class outfit today, no shame in that. Worst image of the day for me was watching a smirking Lim in the stands, he should not be anywhere near our club after recent events and so if you want to blame anyone blame him. Plusses from the game Mutch and Kim look a good attacking midfield partnership and should defo be picked in most home games with Medel sitting in front of the back four. Playing two defensive midfielders in Medel and Gunarsson is the right way to go in away games. We lost today but I'm not worried at all at this stage of the season. Sort the politics of the club out and everything else will fall into place :ayatollah:

Chelsea were better than us. There's no one to blame.

Not even when we consistently pump the ball up front to PO when he is marked by two double his size centre halves? Come on John, this is poor.

So I'll pay devils advocate here.

Tan has invested around £35 million. He sees his team stuff 4-1 at a place no other team this season has been stuffed like that.

What would've your plan been, don't tell me hold on to the ball... easier said than done

Lets go one further Ian, we cannot string two balls together, constantly hit high balls up to PO and hope for the best, Taylor has another game of hide and seek.........................................??? These questions need to be answered. If I had spent £35m and witnessed that, somebody would be having a chat with me.

As a matter of fact Einstein - yes. That is what footballers do, and if they don't........................... need I say more?

Re: So who to blame this week

We are not expected to get any points from the top teams away, so we need to get something at Norwich.Playing defensive football wont get us many wins home or away , its goals that we need to help keep us up.

Oh to play with a winger that has pace to beat a man to set up forwards. Some thing we dont have at the moment.A good start today was needed shame we couldnt keep it up for 90mins.

Ok fine but if you study today's game look at how quickly Chelsea pressured our players...

Ever asked yourself why good teams look as if they've always got time on the ball...

1) the movement to get in to a position to receive a pass
2) the pace and accuracy of the pass
3) the instant control

Add these three things together equals more time to repeat the process from one to three.

how do you achieve one to three, by telling the players to do it, well I'm off down to see the local team to give them this pearl of wisdom!

You achieve one to three through coaching... we can do that... then through skill and natural ability of really really good players. Chelsea have players with a higher skill level and hence the outcome of today's game. Now add in the Chelsea pressure our less skillful players puts massive pressure on steps 2 to 3 above..................................
