LAWRO & CHELSEA FANS ~ WHAT ARE THEY SAYING??

Fri Oct 18, 2013 11:02 am

Mark Lawrenson's predictions
I cannot believe what is happening at Cardiff with the removal of their head of recruitment Iain Moody, who was a key member of manager Malky Mackay's backroom staff.

I'm sorry, but what is Bluebirds' owner Vincent Tan trying to do? He should just let Mackay manage the team because they are doing fine.

For Mackay's future to be insecure is absolutely ridiculous. They are becoming a laughing stock and it has nothing to do with their results; it is to do with one person. Maybe Tan should just take the manager's job himself.

Tan is in danger of sending Cardiff into freefall and there is only one way that is going to end up - relegation.

Chelsea have had mixed start to the season but are only a couple of points off the top of the table.

We know the problems they have had with the balance of their team and boss Jose Mourinho has fired off a broadside about it, but they are still in there and looking good. This should be a comfortable afternoon for them.

Lawro's prediction: 3-0 (Chelsea)
Susanna Reid's prediction: 2-1

I suspect there will be a big police presence for this one.

Only fear I have with Cardiff is that against City and Spurs they were defensively superb and organized very well. I'm sure we might huff and puff at them for a while but we will eventually break them down. Or you'd hope. Against City in particular they sat deep with one player holding in front of the defence and then a row of 4 quite deep to stop City playing through the lines. Was very effectively to be fair and they deservedly won.

Cardiff can have great games and then terrible games. We must not underestimate them. Here are so many players in different positions for us, but strikers is always a big worry and question mark :/

The Newcasle loss will have damaged their confidence which was high ,I dont see a problem for us here

In all honesty, we should be steamrolling Cardiff. They're a recently promoted side coming to the Bridge. There's showing respect for a team, but there's also knowing our level and theirs. If we're not confident of winning these types of games rather comfortably, well then I don't like our chances of lifting a trophy this season.

Tbh, I'd be more confident if they hadn't beat City. They deserved that victory as well. They can definitely play. Better than Fulham, imho.

Severely underrating Cardiff mate. They'll be a tough nut to crack. They're better than Fulham, Hull etc. and could potentially be as hard as the Norwich game IMO.But of course anything could happ

Cardiff have sacked their head scout and replaced him with a 23 year old work experience student
and we think we have it hard with manager changes? Turns out he's the friend of Vincent Tan's son

Whether they're in a crisis or not we should be dispatching Cardiff without many problems at home.

Just wondering if anyone know what happened in Old king road? Did we kick off back then? Soul Crew?

I think Chelsea should be confident in beating us if they get in our faces and attack, we'll need to park the bus and play damage limitation unfortunately.

However, if they set up to play on the counter, we need to take full advantage of that, get Bellamy on the left, Odemwingie on the right and frazier through the middle (the team mostly picks itself, so the rest isn't hard to imagine)

Gary will be vital for us in this game, as will Marshy, Caulks and Bellers.

I predict a 2-0 Chelsea win, but a good performance from our lads drawing praise from the Chelsea fans/manager, and Malky giving his usual "Im very proud of the team today"

Chelsea and the MET police started it in our FA Cup match a few seasons ago. We were kept in the ground so the Chelsea fans left first, then when we were finally allowed to leave, there was a big sign saying away fans with an arrow pointing to the left, directing us back to where our coaches were parked up the Old Kings Road. So guess where hundreds of Chelsea fans decided to go to wait for us?

We had hundreds of Chelsea fans ahead waiting for us and the MET police on their horses poking us with their truncheons behind us to get us to move along! My dad actually turned to one of the officers (who of course, had his badge number covered) and said to him "excuse me, do you honestly expect me to move along into that ahead?" Inevitably, trouble started and Vince Alm's son disgracefully got sent down, just for throwing a traffic cone in self defence while the pathetic MET police seemed happy to watch all the trouble they had instigated unfold.

I remember one female officer on her horse in particular smacking any City fan that happened to be near her with her truncheon. No doubt, that was her kicks for the day! I will be making sure my phone is fully charged so if it does go off again tomorrow, I can film the behaviour of the police for evidence. I hope others do the same so if some of the officers do act out of order, we can have the tossers!
