Ive got my own thoughts on the matter, & I'm probably a million miles away, however,,think back to that t.v. interview with VT the early part of this year. Didn't VT say that if [when] we got promoted, he didn't want to spent millions & millions on players that didn't score goals, but would spend wisely on unknown players that did. I'm sure he also quoted players that fitted that bill, from other clubs at that time.

Personally, i think that the Cornelius situation didn't help things, being our first big signing of the summer.
This, on top of a few other high profile players that have hardly kicked a first team ball in the last year or so, must have influenced his mind set. Just my thoughts.

Tan caught him wearing blue socks :D

If as some reported he mistook a £35m budget for transfer fees, signing on fees and wages as transfer fees alone; thus overspending the budget by several million. Then I think you're going to be in trouble! I don't think we'll ever know.

i think this has to be the only realistic and logical reason for him going. maybe flexing a bit and showing his ruthlessness and shrewdness before big investors start looking our way and frowning at us apparently throwing money about?

Signing 3 right backs and no f*cking winger the c**t deserved the bullet for such gross stupidity alone

This,,,& a few other signings that have been mentioned, are the reason VT lost confidence in Moody's judgement.

But he can hardly be fully to blame, can he? Who, ultimately, wants certain players in certain positions??

All in my opinion.

Moody's approach was based on Moneyball

Anybody that spends 8.5m on a striker that will never play is going go come under fire imo

Not being funny, but a lot of Malkys signings since he was appointed were ex Watford players,,,nothing wrong in that, but hardly Moody's "finds". New overseas players, that's a different matter. Some pay off, some do not.

I remember Tony Pulis being sacked by Stoke City,,,because of his lack of continental transfers.

Managed them a second time, different men in charge,,, didn't do to bad!

He's been injured so unfortunately he's not going to play! He's a youngster anyway plenty of time.

Potential - commitment = 0. Is this what you mean?

Plus theres a scouting team it wasnt just him finding players.

Well having blown a quarter of the budget on him time is one thing Malky doesnt have.

As a football club we cant go.blowing best part of 9m on something that may be fruitful in a couple of years

Yes Mario, one thing a new manager in the Premier league don't have is "time".

Correct. A new club spending that much on a striker hes got to come in and start banging them in straight away.

True... Close to 10mil for the two below players!! Ain't played a single game yet...
Cornelius - 7.6m
Brayford - 1.5m

Finally someone has sense!! I share the same thought, sick of reading anti tan posts when NONE of us know the facts! :ayatollah:

I've been feeling this way too. In Tan's eyes, who knows little about football, he see's all this money spent on players who don't look good in an attacking way. We know how good Medel and Caulker are, but they are 2 biggest signings and for Tan must seem strange that the biggest signing rarely gets over the halfway line.
