The qualifying draw will take place at the Palais des Congres Acropolis in Nice France.


France 2016

Qualification for UEFA Euro 2016 in France will probably play 53 teams (including Gibraltar). France as host of final tournament will not play qualification. Teams should be drawn into 9 groups. 8 groups should contain six teams and one group should have five teams. Pot allocation will be probably based on UEFA National Ranking 2013. Top two teams from each group and best team on third place will qualify to UEFA Euro 2016. Rest eight third-placed teams should play play-offs (seeding in play-offs should be based on actual version of UEFA National Ranking 2015).

Final tournament will play 24 teams, which will be drawn into 6 groups (with 4 teams in each group). Pot allocation will be probably based on UEFA National Ranking 2015.Top two teams from each group and best 4 teams on third places will qualify to round of 16.

I make Wales currently 25th ranked european side in the rankings out today, which would mean they would go into pot 3 at the moment???

its a shame we cant get in pot 3!

would be such a big advantage

if we can get a big win or two in the next set of friendlies maybe we can go up a pot, to pot 3 by then, that would be huge

Looks like the best chance we will ever have of getting to the finals.

England/Greece (the weakest teams in the top seed IMO)
Denmark/Hungary (Neither side is ridiculously strong)
Norway (we know we can beat them, we did so comprehensively not so long ago)
WALES
Lithuania
San Marino/Faroe/Island Lischtenstein

would be great. if we can nick into pot 3 then instead of norway we could find ourselves playing against someone the likes of Latvia or Estonia.

obviously we could also get a nightmare group! something like

and no one from pot 6 is a threat, but. even the nightmare scenario isn't too bad. this is our best chance in a long time to qualify

Hopefully when this months rankings come out, and if we beat Finland next month we can move into pot 3 before the draw. I actually think we can do this one, hopefully at least get play offs if players out their heart into it

Does this mean atm we are in pot 3?

Also do the qualifiers go towards ranking points?

cant see how you can call england a weak team, hodgson has got them playing well, they would beat wales easy

Not saying their a weak side, but i would rather us take on England than the likes of Spain, Germany or Holland etc

With the most recent rankings we're in pot 3 in UEFA. Along with the likes of Iceland, Scotland, Turkey, Hungary, Norway.
I think Pot 4 is the likes of Montenegro, Poland, Ireland and Finland. Obviously Pot 5 doesn't pose much of a threat.

Hopefully we get something like

I'd be confident we'd qualify for at least the playoffs from that. Although I'm not sure exactly what pot each team will be in yet

After belgium I would love them again to meet up with our new friends also would like to avoid scandanavia due to expense but teams like bulgaria greece faroes hungary anywhere cheap and nasty
