Always looking for a positive, otherwise I'd be off cefn viaduct.
Possibly one good thing that's come from this is he may well have learnt a lesson. The furore caused by his clumsy handling of affairs has not just stirred up the small percentage of fans he knows well are opposed to him and the changes he made in relation to the rebrand.
There's been mass condemnation, but the national press coverage will no doubt have had an affect on his image here and back in Malaysia.
I'm sure if he had the slightest thought of any further rebranding then that will totally be blown out of the water now, surely he daren't rock anymore boats.
I'd be suprised if Simon Lim survives the backlash and hopefuly he can be replaced with a man who knows the game, knows the business and can stand up to VT.
In defence of VT, he does appear to be learn quickly and possibly that's how he's got where he has, let's just hope he's learnt from this and we can move on .
Also while I am on a ramble, most of us know that if we get a win in Chelsea, then all this fuss will be chip paper news and that's how it always will be, most of us just want to see things OK on the pitch and the behind the scenes situation is just a sideshow we have little if any control over.
And on a side note, the BU action, while some have questioned their action and stated they should only be there for rebrand issues, I disagree strongly, while I don't agree with many of their actions, being there and giving people a focus is needed and a group of this sorts should exist even if only on the back boiler so to speak when times are stable.
They have done and are doing a lot of things well, and whatever they do will not please everyone, anyone or any group that puts their head over the wall are fair game for internet ridicule and a target for dissenters, just goes with the territory.
The supporters club and the Trust by their nature have different rules to work to, BU or similar groups need to be there for such times, so they can let those in power know there is a group that are totally independent from club influences.
The club should have no hold, no control and no influence over such a group and I think it would be a mistake to see this group as another supporters group that as links with the club, stay independent and be prepared.

Simon lim will survive simply because he's a yes man,no business man will surround himself with people who would confront him on issues, that would be business suicide, tan wants everyone to lick his arse, and to just basically agree with every idea he has

For the most part I hope you're right - I hope VT feels that to take rebranding to another level (name change etc) won't be worth it. To assume total control of the club and turn it into a completely different entity altogether is only going to alienate everybody - with any luck, he'll see it's not worthwhile.
