A forum for all things Cardiff City
Tue Oct 15, 2013 2:28 pm
Those of you who have read my posts on this message board over the years will know that I am generally a positive poster who takes no pleasure in running down anything to do with our club.
The events if the last couple of weeks though have left me questioning why I invest so much time and energy obsessing over Cardiff City!
I have given Tan the benefit of the doubt regarding the rebrand (though I never like it) thinking that for the good of the football club and the local area in general I would begrudgingly accept the change fron the clubs traditional colours. My one desire was to see a change from the consistent boardroom turmoils that have infested the club ever since I started supporting them. I genuinely thought that Tan, being such a successful business man would be able to run the club on a sound business footing.
Of course there has always been nagging doubts. Especially after scarfgate etc, but I continued to try and offer some perspective on here.
However his most recent stunt has left me more than a little bemused at his intentions for this football club. I'm even forced to wonder whether he enjoys taking the piss out of us! His latest disregard comes in the form of his lack of urgency in issuing a meaningful statement after this latest debacle.
I truly believe that iain moody has done nothing wrong and the way he has been treated is shameful. The appointment of the Kazakhstani chap who is apparently good at football manager smacks of contempt towards the very people Tan should be looking to get onside.
As a fan I honestly don't know what the answer is. I am totally fed up of the circus that is currently going on but I dont see how we hold any of the cards at present. I don't necessarily believe that just because we have been rescued other times in the past that we will have prospective buyers knocking down Tans door to buy us.
The problem is Tan doesn't really give a shit what we do cos we are so easily replaced.
People can blame Simon Lim etc for what has taken place but the fact is, these are Tan's cronies. He had perfectly capable people as CEO's in Gethin Jenkins and Whitely but replaced them with someone who appears to be incompetent, then when it all goes wrong he refuses to take the blame but looks for a scapegoat.

Agree with your post mate and can see it getting worse before it gets better. Still nice trip up the smoke this weekend to get behind Malky and the team

There are a few lions within the current circus. Once Tan does away with them then we are well and truly buggered and the club we once knew and loved will be gone as Tan will be able to do as he pleases without objection. Name change? Fans will kick up a fuss but Tan won't care as long as the profit is rolling in. Money is his language. If fans kick up a protest he'll just play the media as he has always done and he dresses like a knob to detract from the real issues.
Protests are often ignored by these types of people. Its not like we have someone who cares like Kenwright and understands the local people. We have a self centred egotistical clown at the helm and the sooner the circus attendees realise the better. They are paying for a show and Tan wants to be the star of it. Some will continue to cater to the clown because they are puppets. Others will smell the shit from amongst what seems to be a bed of roses built on a foundation of cash (loans).
If he doesn't want to be star of the show then please answer me this 'Why, on what should have been a day (Man City game) about the club only did he dress like a complete and utter idiot for attention purposes?'
The answer is pure and simple 'to get in the newspaper and be lauded up'. It's all about him.

I think you will ultimately find it's mostly about Mr Tan's intention to make a decent return out of his investment.

spot on,
this is all about money and no benifit to cardiff city what so ever,
the only thing he (tan) see's is dollar bills - when he talks football the only thing he is interested in is a return not success
all these hungry signings are just a backout clause for tan if he cant sell the club to an invester, he'l sell up our players for return on investment.

A spell away from this place is the order of the day, mate.
Far less dramatic out in the real world.

That is the roath jerkoff wind-up line.I think that would be the absolute total last resort as that would mean a huge loss on Mr Tan's investment. To me it's almost unthinkable as it will mean he has failed very badly and I don't believe he will allow that to happen. It's all about achieving a sale of the club as a Premier League business wholly or partly or by way of flotation. But at the same time it is all about Cardiff City as it is to us fans because the investor needs the team to be playing at PL level to make his investment work.

You must have a very low resolution on your monitor if you can't see anything else...

Some posters on here have trouble seeing past Tans butt cheeks.

Wez I love your optimism , I really do. I'm not one who thrives off criticising our club, but I just find the events of the last week or so absolutely shambolic.
You wouldn't believe how much I'd love Tan to prove me wrong and show some respect and empathy with fans who he should be aiming to win over.
Today is a good start but I believe he needs to do a lot to regain the trust of fans like me who would love to believe that he has good intentions for this football club.
