Could/Should the FA step in?

Tue Oct 15, 2013 12:44 pm

Why do they continue to let foreign businessmen come in and ruin great football clubs that have years of tradition? They are the governing body of the game in the English Leagues so why do they let these people treat OUR game like its a video game? Surely their aloud to do something if they feel the need to?

Before taking over a club, these businessmen should produce ideas of what they want to get out of running a football club and why, And how much experience of the game in general they have etc. If they meet these certain pre-arranged criteria then the FA could allow them to step in and take control of a club and if at any point they go against what they gave to the FA then their aloud to step in and remove or warn them of any action they have made. Supporters trusts and executives of these clubs could also be shown the proposals of the new potential chairman and their background and then along with the FA could vote in favour or against the positioning of thus chairmen.

Whatever idea is best, there needs to be a solution.

Our club and British football should not be effected by such greedy, money making businessmen in the extent that it is. Its crazy...

No. The Premier League dictate what goes on. FA are there for disciplinary actions/internationals etc. If I'm not mistaken

Surely their main role is to provide the best for our game? Protecting it from poor businessmen who are damaging historical football clubs would be doing this. They surely must have the intention of doing the best they possibly can? :?

You welcomed them in with open arms you f*cking imbecile , waving your Malaysian flags and threatening the few with a bit of sense in public meetings , Jesus Christ man look at your user name , he flashed the cash and the vast majority dropped their draws , now "cardiffred" (incredible) you want the fa to stop him after he's pumped in 10's of millions !!!

Quite simple really. The premier league is now a huge global brand, thats worth substantial amounts of money. The foreign market, Investors, tv rights etc bring in a huge portion of that money. Tradition and what fans think has now become secondary. Shame really, but thats the way football in this country is now. Its gone the same way as f1 racing where sponsorship, tv rights and foreign investment takes priority over the paying public
