' MALKY TO REMAIN IN CHARGE '

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=125198

Monday 14th October 2014.

Malky Mackay is still the manager of Cardiff City following a five-hour-long board meeting that has now concluded.

The Bluebirds boss met with the club's directors at Cardiff City Stadium following a week of turmoil sparked by the suspension and subsequent departure of close friend and head of recruitment Iain Moody.

Mackay arrived at Cardiff HQ early this morning, hours after his agent issued an explosive statement that urged the club to tell fans the full story of recent events.

We understand today's meeting was generally positive with club officials keen to offer support to the manager.

A club statement is due to be issued later today.

The Scot’s position has been thrown into doubt since the shock departure of his trusted lieutenant Iain Moody.

The club’s head of recruitment – who worked closely alongside Mackay in signing players during the Scot’s two-year reign in South Wales – was replaced by Alisher Apsalyamov, a 23-year-old Kazakh without any known football experience.

Bluebirds owner Vincent Tan went on record with his support of Mackay when the club finally broke their silence on the Moody affair on Friday .

Ahead of today's meeting, Mackay's agent Raymond Sparkes said: “From the word go Malky’s concern has not been for himself, it is for the club itself.

“He is deeply concerned that what was being built at Cardiff City, the momentum being built over the last two years, is in danger of unravelling.

“Malky is basically trying to protect what he has achieved at Cardiff City and is not worried about himself so much.

“He completely understands the anxiety that must be building among the club’s supporters.

“He believes nothing has been explained to the fans in what has been going on for a number of days now.

“Malky understands there has been a lack of clarity and will insist at the end of the board meeting that the chairman or other senior directors provide supporters with a clear explanation of what has been going on.

“If that cannot be done he will take it upon himself to do it.

“He does not want the club’s fans left in the dark for too much longer.”

Sounds like many marriages, where trust has been lost but both agree to move on to make it work. As malkys agent said if Malky wasn't happy he would walk, so we must believe that Malky has been given assurances and all move on , without people not in the know stirring up.l

Great news, if true (and there's no reason at the moment to suggest otherwise) :malky: :ayatollah: :malky:

It is positive news for sure. It struck me as odd that Simon Lim left the country for his jollies when all this started to break. I think he's way out of his depth and wanted to get away to avoid the shit-storm he knew was coming. I don't get the feeling he's going to be around much longer after this.

Hope Simon Lim goes he sounds like a real tool, I hope Malky will come out and say something soon. Good news about him staying at the helm just hope we can move on from this ridiculous, unnecessarily situation. :ayatollah:

This is probably not far from the truth.

It sounds similar to the situation down the road where Laudrups mate and agent is no longer allowed to be involved with transfers, Laudrup probably wouldn't have been too happy but, has to take it because they are his employers and if he walks it will probably cost him a lot of money.

Both are probably not at their happiest but what can they do other than move and and do the best for the club and supporters :ayatollah: :malky:

Let's show him what we think at all games he's a top Manager :malky:

I really feel pity for fans who believed he was actually going to go.

you mark my words.....malky will be out of here the first chance he gets. whether that will be a pay-off or someone will come in for him....the damage has been done.

I've been a Bluebird for nearly 60 years, and Malky is the most successful and charismatic manager we have had in all that time. My feeling is that we should show just how strongly we feel in the present unbelievable impasse by backing him in a way that will make the whole world sit up. Let's make our point to the Tan empire by all wearing BLUE for the Swansea game - the colour of Malky's Scotland as well as Cardiff City. If there is not a single red top of scarf anywhere in the ground, we will have made our point bigtime. The worst thing that can happen is that Vincent and Co will see red and take their toys and tantrums back to Malaysia. However, our stand will prove to potential successors that we are the most passionate supporters in the world. We'll be headline news throughout the game - surely there'd be a blue horizon beyond the Malaysian malaise? I won't be around for much longer but I always said I would die happy if we got into the Premier League. I don't want the Bluebird of happiness to implode and while I appreciate it is Tan's money that has got us there, I'm beginning to feel I've sold my soul to the devil.
