The Swansea model???? Poor reporting if he doesn't know about their bankruptcy history.

I don't think he has worked it out. It wasn't the lure of the premier league, it was the fear of not having a club to support if Tan did pull out, that forced them to 'accept' the rebrand. I think if anything, we are less dependent on his investment now, than we were when the rebrand was implemented in 2012.

With the club in the PL we are a far more attractive option for a potential buyer. Tan is also a small fish (and an idiotic one public relations wise) than he has ever been before.
Money and bullying will not get you success now VT.

Nevermind about Tan doing the Ayatollah, who is the woman in the red dress on the right?

Far from it. What has our model got to do with bankruptcy which was caused by previous models. Feck me your all so obsessed with our past.

You do realise the people who put you into the CVA the last time are your current board and major shareholders ?
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/foot ... ns-1836528

They made the decision. Had you continued with those debts, which at the time were similar to ours God knows where you would be now.

Also having a free brand new 20000 seater and nothing to pay until you get to the Prem is a bit of an advantage. try having to put £30-£40m into it and see what that would have done to your debt.

Yeah - more fool the CCFc directors for paying it. Some would just say'good business' by your lot. If so fair enough, but not really a fair basis for comparison.

There are far better models, clubs like West Brom and Norwich who paid their debts off.

You cant be serious? Feck me you are? Wow.
Good job you didn't have any assistance from the council. You are blaming the current owners for the debt incurred by previous inept owners. Yep that makes sense. You decided to go begging around asia for a dictator we decided to ask our creditors if they would accept a reduced amount of the debt owed to them. Now which was the better decision? Only further supports my point.

Yes the council asissted us. Unfortunately only to a point and CCFC had to shell out £30-£40m on the ground. its there in the accounts for all to see.

I don't blame the current owners for the old debts - just pointing out THEY chose not to pay them. They were still Swansea City's debts no matter who owned them. It would be Ok if tomorrow I took over CCFC and decided not to pay anyone by your logic ? Great idea.

What has happened at our club is sh1t, but one thing is certain until we've shafted our creditors over for the 3rd time you lot are in no position to preach .

I despair. You are sayinv norwich which was in dire straights without a promotion is a better model than ours? Really.
We have almost the perfect model for ownership. I would like the trust to have a bigger percentage but at least they have a board member and as all other members are genuine fans its clearly a better model than that of almost any other club in the country.

I'd take the Jacks situation no doubt about it. I'd take League 2, fan ownership and our own ways of being. We might have trips to places unknown worldwide and we might have to brave the rubbish weather for midweek games more often but it was much better.

That's when football was truly football. I miss the good old days sat behind a pillar. Back then as well the true traditionalist fans were nicer. Now the plastics only care about money and not their fellow fan. Even the stewards now think they are power rangers.

What's become of us aye? We could have worked our way properly to the top in blue parading the bluebird in Europe proudly and singing our songs with our diehard fans and a proper anthem we brought through like Roma and Liverpool and so on. We had that passionate club once and could have become recognised the proper way a football club should be.

Now we are a circus act. We are the Miley Cyrus of football and Tan is the wrecking ball.

Unlike you I don't spend my life on here. I have a family and also sleep :laughing6:

To be honest your post isn't worth a shit anyway.

As far as Sam is concerned firstly he was the owner of the club. You really aren't going to try to compare what an ex-owner got to genuine creditors ?

Anyway Sam alledgedly put £24m into the club and has received at least £15m back - maybe more. The accounts will tell that. In the meantime he had the benefit of ownership of the club and plenty more money out in wages, expenses etc.. He has now been given further benefits and a proxy place on the board.

No comparison whatsoever.

Besides anything else, we aren't being held up as an example of how to run our club - far far from it.

What is clear though is it is far easier when you write your debts off each time they become unsustainable and are given virtually free of charge a new stadium and free use of it .

if you had to pay for it and were saddled with your historic debts and £30m of costs toward planning, building and fitting it out with the interest which accumulated on it over all this time then you would have been crippled too.

Inconvenient truth though for you.

Dream on son.

i doin't know how long you have been supporting us, but we've been in sh1t street for years. 35 years for me and it's never been any different.
Tan has done some ridiculous things, but without him we would have gone bust, no question of that. For 25 years we bobbed around the lower leagues - with a debt which never went away. Nobody with any real money around here gave a sht unless there was something in it for them. egg-chasing attracted all the investment.

Rather than pull the plug various chairmen gambled each season and failed. The debt spiralled, the purchase of the new ground made it worse, but without that we would never have got investment.

IF and when Tan converts equity, the club will for the first time for 40 or more years be on an even keel.

Hopefully then it will get sold on to someone with a bit more football sense.
