OUR PLAYERS AND THEIR REACTIONS

Sat Oct 12, 2013 10:58 am

During all that has gone on in the past few days the most important aspect at the forefront of my mind is that of Malky Mackay and the job he has to do.

A large part of his job will be coaching, mentoring and convincing the squad of players that we can achieve results.

The vast majority of the players that are with us today are players signed by Malky Mackay.

Did these players sign because they were signing for Cardiff City?

Was the reason because we have Vincent Tan as the owner?

Did the players sign for money that was on offer?

Was it that Malky Mackay convinced them that under his management this was the place to be to further their career's?

For me I believe they signed because of Malky Mackay and the vision he has for the team and the money that was on offer to become Cardiff City players.

Now because of what has happened in recent days, how will the players react to what has gone on?

Will there be a siege mentality within the dressing room in support of Malky and his staff? I hope that is the way the players go forward.

Or will there be a negative reaction and reflection in performances and results?

I am not suggesting that the players will give up on the cause but I think we will understand that a happy workforce is a productive workforce.

As I am writing this thread it is angering me more that Malky is having to deal with this situation and the probable fall out it creates within the squad and staff.

The Moody situation didn't happen overnight and I am not that naive to think otherwise but until it became as public as it has then maybe Malky was able to keep the players concentrating on football.

How do you think the players will react?

the players are going to face questions from the media no doubt about the sorry state of affairs and I suppose Malky will be very choosy who sits in on press conferences and gives pre and post match interviews.

Its international week, so some of the players will be away. But word gets around. This latest business, and whatever happened with the bonuses, can't possibly help.

If we play like in the first half last Saturday, then we are in big trouble. If we play like we did in the second half, then we have got a chance of staying up.

Makly just has to protect the players from all this.

Siege mentality Carl.

Malky can use this to pull the players together. He's a bright guy and superb man manager and motivator. He won't have a problem getting the guys up for it.

Players at other clubs manage to perform when they aren't getting paid.

It's happened here before - the club has been in far worse crises and the player's have still got results.

At leas they are still getting paid and in jobs.

Even IF any of them wanted out, the best thing they could do is perform at their best.

Finally ,when you play support you concentrate on the game, all other sh1t is put out of your mind. That's the main reason most of us do it !

On the whole footballers are in it for the fame and money, don't get me wrong they enjoy what they do (most of us fans would love to be footballer's). They joined CCFC because they could see the potential, they were sold a dream by Malky, but VT's money helped.
They will be loyal to Malky and I believe and hope the "siege mentality" will kick in. But football is like no other industry in the world, you are only as good as your last performance, so the players will be playing for their selves, in case this all goes tits up they will want to play as well as possible to put them in the shop window.
I don't know what the players think about these currant events, but as long as the money keeps coming in, and most are on long contracts, with most probable relegation clauses,so they will be putting a shift in.
Most players live a very nomadic existence, they really don't know where they will be from season to season, so they will be loyal to a point.
Most of the players have seen managers come and go, and probably owners too at previous clubs, and the likes of Whitts, Hudson and Marshall at the City.
We has fans can only support the team, and hope this is just something that's been blown out of all proportion (wishful thinking :( ).

Not too sure how the players will react.

As professional footballers they should not allow this to effect them but that is preach by those who think they are perfect. Like it all not footballers are human and do have weaknesses. This was shown at the Newcastle game. The changing room interferences affected the players. The positive effect is that the second half showed thjere is an answer.

Malky has 2 weeks to make good of this.

They were probably more concerned with their bonus. Managers come and go

I dont think it will effect them at all, im sure it will be used as an excuse at some point though.

Players come for the money and as long as they are getting that I would expect them to be fine.

Won't be as bad as all the dramatic fuckers on this message board are making out. They are professionals not school kids.

I believe we are talking about professional players here, and professional Athletes and as athletes it is built in them to win win win, or is it?

Malky as we all know is a top pro,and its now his turn to show leadership to his staff & players in this times of unrest ( if there is any).
As a pro I believe Malky will demand of his players there full support not just for him and the Club ,but to all the fans who turn up week in week out to support them.

Malky has a job to do and this is going to show just what kind of pro Malky is ,yes he is going to have to get his hear together to keep the heads of his players up.
A team is a Team, and that means all pulling in the same direction, and Malky at the head showing the way.

We also as fans, have to show our support for our Manager & the team, Tan put up the words FIRE & PASSION , so ok, lets show him how much fire & passion the Welsh Fans have ,and turn it on him and chant like fk for Malky & the boys, & also let Tan know what we think of him. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Malky has built a team on ethics so of they can't perform now then you have to question why?

carl, the players signed either for money or a springboard for their career, and without out a doubt any off field distractions will most certainly have a negative effect......have we not all been in that position in our jobs and at the end of the day football is a job... :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

If it is any indication, this is Watford's season during which our shyster owner Bassini arrived. He came in around January, and Malky had problems with him from the off.

We played you in the fog at Vicarage road before the Bassini family came in. You stuffed us 4-1 and played some attractive football. You had a strong attacking force with Graham leading the line and some speed on the wings with the likes of Buckley and Sordell. A total comparison to what we have now which I find bewildering.

4 weeks later when Bassini had taken over we played you at CCS and won 4-2. We got off to a cracking start by scoring 3 goals in the first 20 minutes but you guys came back well by scoring 2 to make it an interesting last 10 minutes. Fortunately for us we got the improtant goal that saw us through. That game surprised me how you had no go in that first 20 minutes. Little did we all know what was starting to go on behind the scenes.

Malky left you under a dark cloud but as the truth came out the forgiveness factor came in. I'm expecting Malky to leave soon. It could be as early as this week. If he does walk I hope it will be after we have played a few more games with him in charge. Something tells me the players will raise their games for him and we could get some interesting results especially at Chelsea. Whatever happens I do expect to wave goodbye to him but unlike his departure at Watford he will go with the fans best wishes.

Agreed; in our defence we didn't know what was going on behind the scenes; your meltdown, unfortunately, is being played out in the national press.

Good luck; rather than bitterness over Malky and his nicking backroom staff, now we know some of what went on (more court shenanigans this week http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/ ... ts/?ref=mr ) we are now feeling empathy with you for having an owner who is an utter cock.

Are you really saying every Pundit and worldwide sports journalist are wrong, because if you think that You are naive my friend.
(read the Sunday Times article) maybe written by a drama queen but makes hellish embarrassing reading for CCFC.
