A forum for all things Cardiff City

I KNOW I know I'm sorry I'm going to talk football on this internal crisis board!
We're one of the, if not the, most lop sided team in the PL, on average 44% of attacks come down the left side and 27% down the right. In short IMO pressure City diagonally in to our left hand corner, the ball has nowhere to go with no pace from Taylor and Whitts, it goes back to Turner who is our left sided centre half and booooooom you get the ball back. Turner is 246th of 283 players in pass accuracy, the second lowest of all defenders (James Collins is the only one below him). The bottom line is we're giving the ball too often to the worst passing defender in the Premier League.
Now! I can paint... So I might apply but I would be asking our new head of recruitment for a quick skillful right winger and ball playing centre half as a priority. Add as a secondary request, a Theophile style left back that takes the game to the opposition.
At the moment I'd play a midfield five of Bellamy (on the left!!!), Whitts/gunner, Medel, Mutch, Harris/Noone
Ahh! Football chat...

We've known for some time that the only tool in Turner's tool box is the big left footed diagonal 70 metre pass roughly in the direction of whoever might be standing towards the right wing area. This season it tends to be Fraizer, who with the greatest respect to him, is never going to win too many balls in the air. As you say, it's nothing more than an exercise of giving the ball back to the opposition.
If we're going to play Nooney or Kadeem on the right, they're going to need to know all about tracking back, because Theophile spends so much time in the opposition's half they'll be defending as much as he is. Not that I'm knocking Theophile's attacking instinct, it's a refreshing change to what we've had for the past 10 years, or probably more.
But as you say, that's enough football talk...

I agree with the tracking back, but Noone and Harris are the best we have... I also despair with MM playing left sided player on the right and vice versa. Bellamy's lost a yard of pace but still better on the left, we don't have that right winger. I think I'll text MM.
