Computer problem

Can anyone help, my PC has frozen, I have two vertical lines with the logo (Intel Pentium inside) showing on the monitor, it isn't recognising the mouse or keyboard, would be really greatfull if any one can help.

Best get advice from small independent pc shop! so many ways of trying to solve problems but need to be there to do it

I'm no computer expert, but it sounds like you need a new screen as something similar happened to mine a few years back and that was the cause.

Re boot first - any change ?

I had vertical lines just before my graphics card died on one of my computers, like this
Not saying this is the problem though. How old is the comp, is it well ventilated, checked all the wires, have you done a reboot, and getting a post screen? any beebs

Thanks to you all for replying, I've tried to re- boot but with no joy, I've been in touch with someone who lives close bye, so will let you know how I get on.

Probably needs a format, could be the mother board! Let us know how you get on

it's probably not the motherboard.....

Buy a Macbook Pro.

You may have blown the graphics card Have you been playing games on it?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Seriously sounds like either the cable connecting to your graphics port is not seated correctly, cable is damaged or your graphics card is shot
