Your been a laughing stock for years. As soon as scam said your as big as barca and the only way PL football could come to wales. We have laughed and laughed. We laughed at your continued bottling and risdales golden promise. We laughed as you all ruled out a rebrand andthen backtracked and grovelled for vinny to stay. Comedy gold club.

Fair play what an absolute class A bellend you are. I still remember the collection buckets for you at ninian park, I genuinely felt sorry for you, as I would have hated it to happen to us. Then again, you always have had an inferiority complex. That's backed up by your bitter post. Embarrassing.

Wasn't it YOUR club that reckoned it was England's answer to Barcelona not so long ago?![]()

More 'selective memories' from our country cousins![]()
The sad thing is WE didn't laugh when YOUR club nearly went down the tube. We passed buckets round and did what we could to help keep you going...and what did YOUR club do? They went into deliberate 'administration' and screwed the locals for any debts owed to them before borrowing the local council-owned stadium at a pittance of a rent![]()
Comfortable up there in your Ivory Tower, JackF?

Dont think it was our club, owner or directors that said we were England's version of Barcelona. The press may have called us swansalona due to playing a similar type of football and a strong spanish link.
Yes we went into admin. But feck me it wasn't by choice and I think its fair to say we have learnt our lesson. Whats more for years we had shit owners and were a joke. No denying that. But pleas dont say you lot didn't love it just because of the odd bucket collection which was much appreciated at the time.
As for screwing creditors zzzzz play another one.

Right lets see if we can put this to bed once and for all. Doubt it be here goes.
1) we were a financial mess
2) we did go into admin in the early eighties and go wound up
3) we did enter a cva when petty left
4) we did have a lot of help and support from other clubs especially utd and Liverpool without who we would have gone forever.
5) nobody set out to rip anybody off. The majority of creditors agreed to the cva
6) nobody has forgotten about the dark days infact quite the opposite.
Which leads me to since the cva:
7) we never pretended to be a billy big bollocks
8) we have never gone begging around the world for foreign investment
9) we had to change the way we played to try to compete as we didnt spend money we didn't have.
10) we lost the best young manager in the country twice due to our stringent spending
11) we have been ridiculed by some fans clubs due to our stringent spending
12) we have had to sell to buy for years and have lost so much talent for this reason
13) we haven't sold out to any tan dick or Harry.
Were we perfect? f**k no we were a shambles, a disgrace and a joke . However unlike many clubs we didn't look for a quick fix. We decided to do things properly and be responsible. No imo thats something to be proud off. To admit your mistakes and to learn from them. Which is clearly what we have done. You lot couldn't be more wrong when you say we have forgotten about going bust as nothing is further from the truth. Its these memories that make us so proud of being the first welsh club in the premier league, the first welsh club to qualify for Europe via an English tournament and the first welsh club to win a trophy for over 80 years.

JackF, I can hand on heart say I didn't enjoy what your club went through (the same as when Newport and Wrexham did) as it was one of the "there but for the grace of God" situations that many years later nearly happened to us![]()
I wouldn't wish that on ANY club (with the possible exception of Stoke City) and like many other true Bluebirds I put my hand in my pocket for the fund-raising. It doesn't make me anything special; it just meant that (despite the banter on here) I had sympathy for a struggling club that on many occasions could of been my club

The creditor thing, I'm afraid, is an inescapable fact your club have to live with and for all people knock this club and its owner, we paid back at the rate of 100 p in the £ when we COULD have taken the easy route like Swansea![]()

But thats my point. Im not ashamed of what happened. It was the result of many many factors. Luckily the community ralied around and agreed to the cva which seems to be a fact many on here seem to miss. Many of those businesses have been rewarded many times over since as have many many other local businesses. So in hindsight it was a tough decision that ultimately benefited the new owners and the club, but also the city, local community and business sector.
Surely though another key issue is the amounts concerned. We were talking of a few hundred thousand. Not hundred millions. So in reality it has never been the easy route for you as it wouldn't have worked.
And as I keep on saying nobody is proud of those years. But everybody is proud of what we have become, what we have achieved and how we have changed in the years that followed.
