VT has invested140 million to get to the EPL but it takes serious money to stay there.
How many smaller EPL teams make a profit despite their huge income?
In fact most clubs have benefactors that keep on investing year after year
So has this stark reality hit Mr Tan right between the eyes and he now realizes that further investment is required in January which he does not have or want to spend ?
He is rich but not that rich in terms of the other owners.
Is he panicking because he knows that the money will run out soon like Sam Hammam ?

Speaking to the National News Agency of Malaysia, Tan said:
'If our team's performance is good until January, then there is no need for me to buy new players. We also can't afford to buy star players since we have financial constraints compared with other EPL clubs.'

I believe he has money, more than we know! You have to set a limit and expect a return on your investment, why would anyone keep pumping money in without a return?

Whether he has the money or not is irrelevant.
If he hasn't then it is what it is unless one or all of us can buy him out.
If he has, he clearly is not wanting to invest it on a whim, as a football fan or as anything other than a company asset otherwise he would not have levied up to 70 million as debt against the club (which by the way he has)

We'll survive if Malky goes for it when we should. Jordan Mutch is a must start for me because our current midfield set-up invites pressure. Mutch is a proper attacking midfielder and gives the opposition defenders and midfield problems. Against Newcastle when Mutch came on we were a different team; and Malky in my opinion was still too cautious when he took off Campbell and brought on Maynard when he should have taken off a defender and gone for it. My fear if these tactics continue then we might not win enough games to survive.

Well it seems to me that Tan is very keen on getting some outside investment in if he appointed Alisher Apsalyamov to get in his father's good books.
I see a Pompey situation developing here when the club gets handed arounded to all sorts of owners with no knowledge of the game.
I know that Tan has put a lot of money inbut I get the feeling that he does not want to put any more in
