Always be a place in our hearts for Eddie May

Hello Paul, thanks for sharing your great picture!
A wonderful plaque & no truer word was said "Forever a Cardiff Legend".
As a youngster growing up in the 90s, Eddie May was my first real memories of Cardiff a City & one of my childhood heroes.
What's his name?

I need to speak to a stone mason though or somebody in the profession of inscribing on granite, something needs tweaking on it, problem is we cannot now take the plaque off the wall ! Anybody on here do that for a living? if so can you inbox me please?

As a family we were very humbled to find out recently that he has been voted the third most popular in Cardiff City's history after Malky and Jimmy Scholar which Obviously makes us very proud.

Hi Annis it's great to know that and how much it meant to City fans. I was around in those days too and loved every minute of my life in Cardiff. I like to think that the success of the club in the early 90's started the ball rolling to where City are today.

It was a game of two halves I thought. In the first half City were guilty of over passing the ball and were not direct enough, there was no decisive final ball that cut Newcastle open so they were happy to let you have a lot of the ball because it was in areas where you were not hurting them.
In contrast they were passing it around far more dangerously and the ball was finding it's intended target. The final ball was the difference between the two sides in the first half as Remi proved but the second half was a different ball game and it's that kind of performance backed by a fantastic crowd that will see you ok, you have to win your home games though.
Not sure about Medel to be honest not sure what he brings you, he goes sideways too often when to win games you need to be more direct, not hoofball but ball into the feet of your strikers on the edge of the box.

Brilliant - great to see this memorial on the gates. There must be a forum member who is or knows a stonemason to help Paul out?

Remember the night well Annis I was in Belgium myself that day (Misbehaving I am told!!) cannot remember that bit though but i do the game which I think we lost 5-2.
Funny thing is I have been watching Standard Liege this afternoon online because I had an accumulator on Udinese, Basel, Helsingborg and Zulte Waregem. Zulte had won all 4 homes games prior to today but Liege had won all 9 home and away conceding just three goals. I follow my European football though and put Zulte in to beat them which they did 1-0!

We did lose 5-2 and were actually winning Paul, but still a great night out there.
Good to see you keep up with all the football
