|I thought our midfield played poorly yesterday and while some have suggested that it is down to the formation and the personnel, I think there is another reason which has an impact as well. If players are looking forward to a cup game like when we were looking forward to playing Liverpool for the Carling Cup, their form can suffer with thoughts being on what is coming rather than what is taking place now. I think Medel's cup games are the two World Cup qualifier's and the same for Gunner, as they will decide their qualification, while Kimbo's is the game against Brazil, which while being a friendly is still against Brazil. Whits was also bad, but I think he's out of position on the wing, which is something we can get away with when the rest of the midfield play well (his delivery into the box from corners and free kicks are vital), but not in a game like yesterday. I would have put Noone out wide instead of Gunner and Whits back into the middle when Mutch was brought on or at least after 60 minutes.
