' My Welcome '

Sun Oct 06, 2013 8:41 am

I turned up to the game really looking forward to an open game with a great atmosphere in the sunshine. My mood couldnt have been better.

However, when i entered the stadium up the steps in ninian 117 this was my welcome from some female steward i have never seen before...

"Persistant standing will get you a 5 match ban"

No hello, no how are you just attacking me straight away.

I have been a cardiff fan over 20 years and a season ticket holder for 10 years and im disgusted by how we were treated yesterday.

Put that with the welsh choir singing to the newcastle fans and the goals we gifted them i wasnt sure how as a club we couldve made newcastles stay more enjoyable. Maybe see if they want to take my missus out for the night or use my car to drive home

Strange day yesterday

You should've gone in the away end where they are treated like gods ,they even got serenaded yesterday :? f*cking joke

Re: My welcome

The way we were treated yesterday was out of order. We go out of our way to make away fans feel at home well what about us home fans!

Re: My welcome

Sun Oct 06, 2013 9:11 am

I personally can't see the problem allowing people to stand in 117. The reasoning behind it is that because it is next to the away stand it could cause problems. Yet they put the family stand next to the visitors who are allowed to stand. You can use their argument against them here.

Re: My welcome

Go and see Wayne Nash it's down to him. No point complaining on here Dai, people need to make complaints. It's pathetic. It's not as if there has been any trouble at the CCS . As for treatment of away fans they want to win this family club of year shite

Re: My welcome

Sun Oct 06, 2013 9:30 am

I think what we do behind the scenes for away fans is great. But not out in the stadium. We should be creating a great intimidating atmosphere and making sure we treat our own fans with respect.

I have tweeted him the link

Re: My welcome

Its that c**t Wayne Nash's fault, turned the stadium into a nursery.

Re: My welcome

I watched them yesterday with their clip board going up to fans who I have seen down the City for over 30-40 years saying to them you will get a 5 match ban and taking their seat numbers etc The prob was the ones in front of them were also standing.

The main problem is the club changes the rules to suit them, when they want they turn a blind eye when certain matches suit them.
Second half, fans were able to stand Hmm

Consistency is needed either way

Re: My welcome

I'm in ninian 117 and the stewards were writing down the seat numbers of persistent standers. However they seemed to only pick on the smaller offenders and not some of the bigger lads!!! f*cking twats the lot of them.

It makes you laugh, no wonder there is no atmosphere...see the St Gallen fans the other night in Swansea? stood all game, flares, fireworks, did any of those get nicked or warned?I doubt it, but how good did it look...the fear factor has gone with us.

I've always found the stewards decent in the canton until the one who searched me on the way in yesterday. Wanted to confiscate my sons happy meal toy from McDonald's when it fell out of my pocket!

Re: My welcome

Sun Oct 06, 2013 9:50 am

I totally agree that the away fans are being treated far better than the home fans and I dont think it will be long before cardiff girls are supplied to give away fans massages with happy endings!

However, I do think we all new 2 years ago that standing wasn't gonna be tolerated in the ninian. I honestly don't know why people in the ninian dont transfer to tge canton if you want to stand that much.

The usual Stewards are ok and always welcome our fans in the Ninian Stand, its when their bosses appear every now and again.

Re: My welcome

At a recent travel club meeting where we also discuss stadium issues, persistent standing in the Ninian Stand was discussed.

Wayne Nash said that at the Man City game we had a football licensing authority officer and his view was that the atmosphere was terrific and the whole day was a success but 'gently reminded' our club about standing in the Ninian Stand.

I asked if the club were going to be turning off stadium cards to refuse entry of those who persistently stand in the Ninian Stand and the answer was very clear.

'The club will be reminding those who stand with a firm but fair approach but we are at the opposite end of the bookcase in regards to turning off stadium cards'.

Re: My welcome

What makes me laugh is that the club, malky and the players praise the atmosphere and say they want it every week, then tell us to sit down FFS you cant have both!

So annoyed how i was spoken to yesterday for a paying 'customer'

With you all the way, either we all sit down or stand up, but make up their minds, like I say consistency is needed, not just when it suits our club

My mate is a steward in 117 and was moved to 118 yesterday as the club were expecting a few banned fans to turn up. He is back to 117 for the jacks . Always have a chat to the usual stewards before the game and get treated with respect back

Was this official questioned about his or her logic?

Its very clear 117 want to stand. Its very clear from the stewards operating in the area that its a problem enforcing the sitting down policy. A study should be done on the feasability of allowing standing in the 117. I'm confident the result would be very positive for those in favour.

I'm right with you on this guys !! Yesterday was a strange day , from the choir serenading the Geordies and then trying to win us back with a rugby song (where was men of Harlech ) to the stewards threatening season ticket holders with expulsion !!!!!

I also encountered the same warm welcome from the female steward !! My view is I have had no official literature / warning from the club on the standing policy or any type of warning apart from a verbal threat from said stewards !!! Surely that's not right and when I asked this no steward or supervisor could answer !!!
Also we look over at the director box to see mr tan standing and persistently stood on the yellow steps which is another no no lol !!

The club cannot have it both ways !! Cracking intimidating vociferous atmosphere which the players /manager/pundits rave about and crave with everyone sat down sipping tea and coffee !! As has been previously said during the second half standing was tolerated and the atmosphere picked up coincidently so did the performance on the pitch !!

I will be emailing the club my complaints and thoughts too not that they will bother to acknowledge or reply to them lol

you might want to read the ground regulations you agree to when buying your ticket before you say you have no official literature

however the rules are confusing and contradict themselves and any football supporter with half a brain will be able to tie the club and stewards up in knots over it, one of the reasons I hated enforcing the standing rules.

Bever mind the rules, i buy my season ticket there bcoz the view is good, there is atmosphere and i know u can stand up because they havnt stopped us since stadium opened. Cant start now!

Theophile Catherine " The fans at Cardiff are so loud it gives me Goosebumps every time. At Fulham they went crazy in a way I've never seen.

rules are rules they can enforce them whenever they want

now if you disagree with the way the rules are enforced then carry on plenty of people who you can complain to

if you want to complain about the actual rules good luck with that but you might want to start writing letters to your MP.

The way i see it, there are plenty who want to stand, if every1 stands together and creates an atmosphere they wont do much

move to the canton if you want to stand

what part of its against ground regulations do you not really understand

the club doesnt really care which way you see it neither does the safety authority or the government this was debated as recently as June in Parliament and they saw no reason to change the rules.

Re: ' My Welcome '

These comments are always the same. Don't blame the stewards who are just following orders!

Again not one of the posters here pay even the slightest notice to the fact that they could be ruining it for those behind them who want to sit down, which is what they actually paid for. I had seats in 117 two years ago and only a few were standing then. In truth the only reason loads stand now is because that's the only way they can see. I'm now in 115 and when I changed to there 18 months ago nobody stood but now it's pretty persistent there as well. So it's no good just telling people they can move if they don't like standing, cause the ignorant ones amongst you don't care about your fellow fans wherever your sitting.
Why not go and stand in the Canton where you won't spoil it for other equally loyal fans.

Re: ' My Welcome '

There are more complaints to the club about people standing than people wanting to stand. The club have many complaints from supporters who want to sit and hate having people standing in front of them.

These supporters do not come on here or mike morris site they write to the club.
