Where were Swansea in the league table after 7 games in your Premier League debut season? Interested to know because some of you lot are being quite critical when we are currently 13th in the table out of the relegation zone

Im not being critical, its a very tough league. Not sure though, in answer to your question, cant remember it was years ago.

The difference being though - we didnt spend over £30 million ontop of a league winners squad, we only spent £9m ontop of a play off winning squad.

Just my opinion on clearobservations but I think its fair to say you SHOULD do better than is on our first season. Which of course was an 11th place finish.

To answer your question they had 8 points from the first 7 games in the last 2 seasons.

Look, all of this is getting a bit stupid and childish. For fucks sake we are arguing with each other over every point, goal, shot on target, shot off target, long balls, short balls and whatever else we can find to beat each other with! It's fuckin boring from both sides especially when we've only played 7 games! But putting it too bed (hopefully), you wont win another 11 games this season, but you may win say 7 or 8 which coupled with the 9 or 10 draws you'll probably get will be enough to keep you up despite losing nearly half your remaining games, and the same goes for us. Everything else is a bonus chaps, so please, lets stop this petty crap and keep the bickering for whoever gets the bragging rights on Nov 3rd. :thumbright:

We have 8 points from 7 games so far.

On current form.

7 * 4 and you get 28. Thats 28 games

8 * 4 and you get 32. That's 32 points from 28 games.

28 + 7 (current games played) = 35
32 + 8 (current points obtained) = 40

3 games left then. On our current 7 game form we are doing well enough to hit the magic 40 point mark.

Why do you care about how much we have spent and how well we "should" be doing? I just want to know as you are not a fan of Cardiff City and I am baffled as to why you are so interested. Does it bother you that United are doing poorly? That Lukaku was sent out on loan? That Man city can't win on the road?

Thats a bit of a silly question. We arent direct competition with Man Utd or Chelsea, they are champions league contenders. We are both in the group where survival is paramount. And then theres the little matter of us being South Wales rivals and your fans and players sing about "coming for us" etc i dont think ive heard any other clubs players sing about us in this manner, although if you can show me where they have ill probably take an interest in their season too.

And i dont care how much you spend, im making the point that comparing where we were in our first season and where you are is a bit irrelevant considering you spent 3 times more on what should be a better squad. Just common sense.

Yes i do. You have spent over £30 million on top of a championship winning team, we spent £9m on top of a play off winning team and finished 11th.

Citygent said that you guys were the next chelsea and he firlmly believes that cardiff will out do Swansea in your first two seasons. Thats am average finish of 10th (11th and 9th resoectively), a cup win amd european qualification.

Im watching with interest.

That's very optimistic. No one expected Swansea to do as well as they have done. But whether we're better or will do better, time will tell. Early days at the moment.

The only thing that matters this season is survival. Then next season is when we need to push on, just like Swansea have.

That was very much the theme of the board for the last few years. Granted it has changed slightly now it comes to putting the money where the mouth is so to speak, however, since we were promoted, certainly the vocal majority has certainly been proclaiming "how much weaker the prem is"... "There isnt much between the prem and champ"... "The championship winning squad is good enough for mid table prem, swansea did it after all" etc etc... Not to mention of course (again) a certain fans leader (cg) proclaiming that you are about to "evaporate everything swansea has achieved" and becoming "the next chelsea".

Its been an incredible read over the last few seasons, and the backpeddling has been even greater to read now the league has been experienced first hand. :laughing6:

Really? I'm a regular on here and I haven't seen anyone post anything like that, so it certainly can't be a vocal majority, probably just a vocal few who are deluded. The only thing I would agree with and what I have seen on here is that the Prem looked a lot weaker last season in comparison to previous seasons. And regarding what City Gent said, I slightly agree that we have potential to become "the next Chelsea" but we are miles away from that at the moment.

Like I said, if we survive then it will be a great season as far as we're concerned.
