Has to start against Chelsea. We looked much more solid when he came on, played a lovely ball to Odemwingie for the goal and had a couple of really strong runs right at the centre of the Newcastle defence and you could see they were wary of him.
Big,strong and in good form - just can't see how Malky can possibly select Gunnar, Whitts or Kimbo ahead of him for the next game.

I think he's earned his place, I would give gunnerson a rest.

Should definitely be playing in our side, always looks to go forward and gives us more of a threat from the midfield.

So strong, powerful, skilful. He has everything we want. Has the edge over Kimbo overall at the moment.

He is hit and miss but excellent in the most today, had to start.

Funny how people's opinions on him have changed from last season

He's a talented lad and when full of confidence as shown he can be outstanding. Should have started today instead of Gunnersson.

Agree with you Steve

He's a very strong, direct player with a big physical stature, Future England international imo. Needs to have a run of games in the starting 11 and give the likes of Kim and Gunnarsson a rocket up their arse

I felt after West Ham he deserved a start and today just confirmed it.
He could have come on any of six today to be honest. We were well off the pace first half and we got a break only being two down at half time. Nobody bar Marshsll could have complained if they were replaced. Our use of the ball was pathetic at times but the second half saw an improvement. Personally, I think AG could do with a break.

Agree - Gunnar has been making to many mistakes and incurring fouls. Mutch is a more direct player which is what we needed against Newcastle, as was obvious from their game v Everton. Just so not understand why that was not identified by MM
