Newcastle have been playing poorly but what a talented bunch

How many of our players would have started for them ?

Caulker and Medel are the only two I'd put in

They have fantastic players but an inept manager.

The fact that they have been playing poorly suggests that they were low on confidence and if we'd really gone at them from the start we could have shaken them like we did in the period after we scored.

Being too cautious again with the line-up and formation at home allowed them the confidence to show that they are indeed a decent team.

Cabaye & Remy Champions league class

Shows how close we are to a team capable of surviving, the second half when we went on the front foot we could have snatched a draw. Malky is learning a lot about the league and our players.

Their starting eleven is easily top 6/7 class, if not more.

Definitely a confidence thing as that team finished in the top 6 a few years ago.

Cabaye, Remy, Ben Arfa, Sissoko, Gouffran would get into most of the big clubs sides IMO.

We lost the game in the first half and more than matched them in the second. Mutch has to start and Bellers drop Kim and Gunnarsson and move Odemwingie central behind Campbell.
