Just seen that Newcastle had over 20 shots on target wile u had only 7?
If so thats pretty much shit.
Your at home against a team struggling.
Sat Oct 05, 2013 4:23 pm
Yep it was shocking in the first half. Malky can't play so defensively at home to an out of form Newcastle side.
Sat Oct 05, 2013 4:25 pm
They were mostly long shots over the bar that didn't even threaten to go in to be fair.

Totally agree it is shocking, we should not be letting team who struggles away have 20 shots, it just cries out we are sitting to deep and not pressing high enough up the pitch
Sat Oct 05, 2013 4:28 pm
Yeah, totally agree. Newcastle are shit away and we went out first half and give them total respect instead of getting at them like we did against Fulham last week. Came out with a different attitude second half and played better but at 2-0 down it was always going to be an uphill struggle. Poor tactics first half cost us big time today.
Sat Oct 05, 2013 4:30 pm
Thats all very well but if not for your keeper u would have lost by a lot more as so with spurs and Everton.
When blackpool were there yes they went down but did have the go out and have a go attitude.
Even the weaker sides will take chances in the prem and if u go out home and away just to defend then u will go down.
At least its better to go and have a go ! Even if it does mean u go down

f**k off you swansea b*stard

Wuming doesn't work when we're looking fine despite a bad result. We got a good away win last week and there are definitely three worse teams than us in the league. Don't compare us to Blackpool - we've got a decent chance of staying up and you know it.
Sat Oct 05, 2013 5:40 pm
Your in no position to slag us off when we are above you.
Sat Oct 05, 2013 5:44 pm
Lol ok.
Tell me apart from palace! Who are the other 2 u are better then

above us yet we haven't played yet!!
a draw tomorrow will take us above you and a win will put us in the top 10..
Sat Oct 05, 2013 6:06 pm
Far too defensive, I'm a big fan of Malky but it's time to stop playing a f*cking hasbeen in Bellamy and actually play with out and out wingers. It's okay to go defensive against great possession keeping teams but Newcastle are not that.

It's early in the season and they've had to play United, Liverpool and Arsenal ffs. Please don't use that, embarrassing

You do realise we have played 6 games so far. 5 of them against sides who finished in the top 8 last season. Theres me thinking that the PL was 38 games. And if you think that after so few games you can say for certain that there are 3 teams worse than you then you are seriously deluded. Far too early for such bold statements.
Sat Oct 05, 2013 6:45 pm
i reckon we all know palace are doomed, prob sunderland too. so theres one more space and any team out of around 8 might take it. my guess is still Hull, Fulham or stoke even. I hate MM negative defensive tactics but in fairness its not much diff to the swansea teams that just keep possession in their own half is it? sometimes you lot have very few shots on target but a lot of possession. Turning into goals is the key. Malky is learning though, will he have the time this year, who knows. Not good to lose at home.....
Sat Oct 05, 2013 7:04 pm
Got them on a bad day. That's the team that beat Everton 2 nil in the second half of their last game.....
We had a great spell and could have got a draw, but all in all a fair result really with Marshall keeping us in it.
It's the premiership and we have to expect some defeats, but we will be fine the relegation teams are already down there one of Swansea Stoke Fulham or Norwich or possibly even Wet Spam

They had 10 shots on target, but why let facts get in the way of a good wind up.
Being a new team in the league city have done superbly. As long as there are 3 teams below us we exceed all expectations

I watched the whole game and you're about 4 or 5 players short of being a decent side.Only Mutch,Marshall,Caulker and Medel are PL class. You could add Odemwingie to that but im not convinced.Swansealad is right when he says about Blackpool and having a go.You just seem happy to sit back and soak up pressure and then hope to hit the opposition on the break, and that's at home

For that to work you need a good target man, which Campbell isn't and then pacy midfielders who can make the break and get up there sharpish, which again you don't have.Gunnarsson is dogshite,i'm sorry.Kim has been a big disappointment and apart from Medel you get overrun in midfield.
The January window will be huge for you and whether you stay up or not.I'm not having a dig here either, just saying it how i see it.

It's our style of play that makes us competitive and difficult. We're different to any other side in the league apart from maybe Arsenal. But to answer your question, i'm not really sure how many to be exact but i'm pretty sure Vorm,Rangel,Williams,Ben Davies,Chico,Britton,Michu and Bony are all premier league class players.Shelvey too.
But as i say,it's not individuals with us it's our team ethic and the way we set ourselves up which is our forte.

Makes me laugh how fickle football fans are!last weekend everything was great but could of been different if it wasn't for Mutch's belter of a strike!didnt expect to beat man city thought maybe get a win today but wasn't to be!thats football!makes me laugh this jack giving the big one before its team has even played!good to see such strong interest in us tho!

In a daft way your possession football is as negative as Malkys Mourinho inspired anti football, as you don't score bucket loads of goals with all your possession, but it is more pleasing on the eye. Arsenal do it with quality, but they are the next step up.
I agree its the style and finding players who fit into the style which make you unique.
Vorm,Williams,Michu will never be playing in the championship - With Michu maybe a class above that again
Rangel,Chico,Britton, suit your style and are more valuable to you than other teams.
Young Ben is a strange one as the kid looks awkward as a left back, but is doing a cracking job
Bony- reckon you have bought a dud there
The big difference is the mangers though. Malky is from the Glaswegian dour school, whereas yours looks like he is doing it as a hobby and doesn't care a fcuk.

I didn't expect anything else than that response to be honest. And needless to say i disagree with a lot of it.I'll comment on young Ben Davies though and stick my neck out and say he'll play for a top 4 club in the next few years as he's a top top player and still only 19.During the Arsenal match he pushed De Guzman out of the way and said 'im taking this free kick'.He was like a seasoned veteran out there. The lad is worth an absolute fortune to us and he also scores goals too which helps.

Well you are on a Cardiff City forum indirectly lauding it up a bit........
The last bit about the managers was a compliment...

Didn't sound like a compliment but i know what you mean.Maybe i was lauding it up a bit on here but i watched your game today and gave my opinion. You won last week and i commended you for it.You lost today so i was a bit critical. You'll all have your turn tomorrow if we get beat at Southampton im sure.

Yeah may not have read well.
Malky is tense, uptight and you wouldn't want to fight him. I think the players are drilled into a defensive system to stiffle all life out of the opposition.
Laudrup looks like the trendy geography teacher. He is light, breezy and doesn't appear to take life too seriously.
I think the personalities of the managers express themselves in the style of play.

I think that's a very fair assessment.
McKay seems to be constantly micromanaging the game by shouting instructions from the sideline, and I mean constantly. I would imagine the players are thinking "oh ffs, shut up for a second and let us play the bloody game!"
Laudrup rarely leaves his seat.
Sat Oct 05, 2013 9:11 pm
I dont think Laudrup has much to say or do.He's just Michael Laudrup and the respect is there just in his presence.

What's this obsession with shots on target
We lost 1-2 and had a poor performance end of.
