Police investigating an alleged 'crash for cash' scam which operated out of a South Wales garage have charged 86 people with a number of different offences.
The garage, known as both St David's Crash Repair and Easifix, was based in Pengam, Blackwood. The charges include conspiracy to defraud insurance companies, conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and conspiracy to money launder.
Such schemes involve accidents being staged in an attempt to defraud insurance companies.
The 86 charged are due to appear at Cwmbran Magistrates Court on October 10.

Amazing that 80+ people were involved.
I wonder how much it cost the insurance companies.

Costs us a fortune as the insurance companies pass it onto the people who pay for insurance.I know of another group who have made a few quid.

A while back, a tour bus of a famous american disco group drove into the back of me and then they stole my vehicle whilst I was inspecting the damage. I was furious when my insurance company advised that they would not settle my claim as I was not covered for Earth, Wind, Fire & Theft. Bastards.
