Fans had three choices of badge to vote for

Everton FC have revealed the new club badge design most popular with its supporters, after a previous redesign was criticised.

In September, the club said its motto would be reinstated after its removal for this season led to protests.

Fans were given a choice of three new crests they could vote for.

Nearly 80% of fans that took part opted for the winning design, which garnered 10,343 votes, while 12% of fans chose the second option and 9% the third.

Unveiling the crest, Everton manager Roberto Martinez said: "I was impressed straightaway when I saw it but there has been a huge majority of fans have chosen this one.

The initial redesign provoked protests from fans
"It captures what we were looking for: to have a modern touch and to be a global badge without taking away all the key icons of the football club.

"Certain icons represent many years of history and that is important. Fans made it clear they wanted to see the tower and our motto and I think it is important 'Nil satis' is back on the badge."

The motto Nil Satis Nisi Optimum, which means "nothing but the best", dates back 75 years but disappeared as part of the redesign.

The club apologised in May after 22,000 fans signed an online petition condemning the "awful" 2013-2014 badge.

The winning design, which was voted for via the club's website, will be used from next season.

Well, there we go then.

Their fans kicked off and got their own way.
Our fans laid back and our owner got his own way.

It really makes me question some people. They literally believe that if we all wear blue to games and fight to regain our blue identity then Vincent Tan will leave.
What a pathetic and childish thing to do that would be ey?

VT is gaining alot of money for his own back pocket whilst here so he wouldn't leave for shit!

Why is this anything to do with us?
It's another club.
Just move on I say, nothing here is going to change any time soon.
As much as I dont like it, I believe red is now here to stay.

Where's the comparison with city's position? There isn't one, other than club wanted a new badge! Fans objected club agreed with choice made by fans! We had no such choice? Never sure why this story is re hashed for 3rd or 4th time?

How?
They were given a choice, we weren't.
Their club listens to it's fans, ours don't and will not.

If you think the minority would rather see Cardiff in red than blue, then you're deluded.

No I don't believe that.
I do believe only a minority will not move on and do something about it. ;)

Like I said, you're in the minority.

Why should we 'move on'?
Is that your answer every time something happens that you disagree with?
Some of us fight for what we believe in.
Cowards just 'move on'.

So, just because fans don't do what you want them to do, you call them cowards?

Seems most don't believe as much as you.

So come the revolution in Malaysia and all the government officials get shot, property tycoons like Tan have their assets frozen and the people of Malayisa run the country we will be left with a major shareholder who will be broke.

Should be interesting.
