Played well up in Birmingham when we won last year, all the best lappin. Stepped in when needed and done a job which is what he was signed for. Don't think he deserves to be slagged off, he was only cover not a world class left back.

Totally agree with this. Malky bigged him up as a model professional who could provide good cover. Another experienced head in the dressing room. Best of luck to him

Agree. Should have just let him go, not got the quality we require. I would get a LB in the January window

We needed cover at Left Back and he was available.

The wages would have been minimal and we had to give him 18 months as otherwise there'd have been no benefit to him for swapping one bench for another.

Exactly, really don't understand why people need to slag our players off. He was brought in for cover, acquitted himself well considering he lacked match fitness and will have my best wishes. Played his part in our promotion campaign.

Provided cover when we needed it and good luck to him- he needs to get some game time somewhere at this point in his career. Presumably Malky thinks that John is good enough to provide cover for Taylor.

He wasn't in the 25 therefore he could not have played no matter how short we were. If he had been in the 25 and we loaned him out we could not replace him as the 25 is fixed until January.

I know that but he is/was available for cup games and dev games , it will leave the squad with one experienced left back and a kid who has only played 1/2 games. What if an injury strikes Taylor ? That's why I said do we strengthen in January .
Joe ralls used to slot in there when needed but he's out on loan , we just seem slightly weak there at the moment .

I woke this morning bleary eyed and remembered a dream that we won the league by 8 points, 10 point from 3rd and lappin was cover in case we were left short and have to play a centre midfielder at left back.....

I hope Joe Ralls never plays LB, a midfielder is where he is the strongest.
