No To Hull Tigers

Mon Sep 30, 2013 9:35 pm

Yes below is a statement that I am going to cut and paste into many an opposition forum. However here at Cardiff you know all too well the pain of having the identity of your club meddled with. It is a movement that needs nipping in the bud before the trickle turns into a landslide and we become a poor mans NFL. The fight isn't over, we just need to unite fans from many different teams and say enough is enough. Hopefully by supporting each others campaigns and bringing on board other teams we can make a difference. After all, the disdain shown towards MK Dons with their Franchise endevour hopefully means nobody will be in a hurry to repeat that trick. Anyway, here it is.

Feel free to take the piss. After all that is one of the reasons English football fans is the best in the world.

However, just remember. once one domino falls the rest will follow. If the footballing world had idly sat back and shrugged when MK Dons was formed it may have become the norm. As it was it was made know in no uncertain way that it was the sort of thing that should never happen again. This is not just a fight for Hull City A.F.C fans. This is a fight for fans of all British footballs teams. This should not be allowed to become the norm. The fans should have the final say on what their club is called. If this is allowed to happen to Hull City A.F.C then what next? Leicester Foxes? Cardiff Dragons? Watford Hornets?

If you are against the idea of Football teams being turned into nothing more than a business then make a small gesture by joining this group. The more support from other Clubs we get then the stronger the campaign will be. There will be opportunities in the future to contribute in some small way.

Do it for the good of all Football

To be honest Bluebirds Unite have achieved quite a lot and there is a lot we can learn from them. I'm a big fan.

That's a shame Willy. I was hoping a man with such a wonderful Avatar would consider giving the whole thing some thought. After all, you do have other sports in Cardiff too.

I am a little confused by the Newspaper references. What point was you trying to make?

As a fan of the fantastic Sheff Wednesday team of the 90's can we count on your support waddle? I can still to this day remember the 1993 team off by heart. They were my Premier League pick when Hull City were down in the dumps. Would never have dreamed back then that the roles would be reversed.

Unfortunately we have fans who take every opportunity to ridicule Bluebirds Unite.

Good luck to you. :ayatollah:

you can count on my support mate even though you have the wrong waddle , alan waddle was my first swans hero in 1978

you really are wasting your time here though with the majority of this lot actually ridiculing anyone who is trying to to something to fight the lunatic in charge and all that matters is premier league and that is over tradition , dignity and everything else , just look at the stands on matchday and see the amount of red being worn for evidence

You really should start to act your age, not your shoe size, keep your nose out of this pettition until it reaches a jack forum if you ever go on one.

Hull Tigers is hardly a rebrand anyway dont know what the fuss is about.

They incorporated their traditional nickname into their club name its hardly a complete change of colour and crest.

Nope.

The red will stand out more, making it seem like there is more than there is.. but I don't think there is.

No, but it is a name change, which I am pretty sure you were against before when it was discussed about our club.

Yes you are mate, most of us are still campaigning to get our blue back, don't listen to those who say different. We will always be blue and one day we will be back in our colour. Now as for you:

Orange? Blackpool?
Red? Trying to copy Tan? (and don't give me that shit about your centenary, you have only been going a few years since you went bust!
Purple and a shitty kind of yellow?

I rest my case, you could be next with a full change.

Keep telling yourself that David Blunkett.

I have no reason to say red is more, I truly wish it wasnt the case, but the red is getting more prominent by the game and certainly far more red this season compared to last.

Not quite true Blunky.

I said changing name to Cardiff FC or Cardiff Dragons dead against it, however like Hull if we changed it to Cardiff City Bluebirds and were still playing in blue I would prefer that to Cardiff City and playing in red.

For me, a renaming a club is starting a new club, I see Hull City Tigers as a new club, if tan changed our name, it would be supporting a different club. Full support to ruislip in his/her campaign.
