' HOW MANY WILL STILL BE THERE ?'

Fri Sep 27, 2013 7:54 pm

How many of the players who were in the Championship with us do you think will be in the team as the months go on.

Today we let McNaughton go out on loan, which I think is a surprise really, we have already let Craig Conway go out on loan as well.

Matt Connolly has lost his spot to the new French full back Kevin Theophile-Catherine.

Captain Mark Hudson is losing out due to the fantastic signing of Steven Caulker.

Medel has cemented his place in the team and I can't see anyone budging him from there.

So what about the other players who were in the Championship with us and currently in the Premier League eleven, which of those players do you see still be in the squad in the final third of the season should Malky bring in some new faces come January.

Marshall, Turner, Taylor, Whittingham, Gunnarrson, Bellamy, Kimbo and Campbell are those who are in at the moment, can you see all of these still be regulars further down the line?

Marshall, turner and kimbo will always be the spine of the side this season, the rest will be in and out of the side, the biggest being Campbell,I don't think he will score many this season

Carl, I said last season, I honestly only thought about 4 players would be good enough to be regular first team players this season. I still stand by that.

Come Jan I honestly believe there will be less than 5 left if we are to stay up in the Premier League.

Always backed Marshall, Kimbo, Turner,Mutch, Bells cant do more than 20 games, Whitts class, but not consistent.

Everyone kept saying we were class because we ran away with the Title, but Prem a much bigger step up again.

Of the Championship squad I think both Mutch and Noone can step up and make an impact.

As i said a few weeks ago the side will pick itself soon and 95% of last years team will not be in that team!

Thats what I believed last season, thats the difference in the step up to the World Class Premier League, if you want to survive.

To be fair kimbo should never have been playing in the championship, how we managed to get him last year I dont know

A lot of people said Whittingham wouldn't be one of them. How wrong were they aye. Always had faith in Whittingham, a legend and still doing his best for the club. Adopted bluebird at heart no matter how English he may actually be. More Cardiffian than the plastics in the city. :love10:

Whittingham will do well to still be in the team come the end of the season.

Marshall is going to be around for a few seasons more. He could end up our most capped keeper.

Always rated Turner and felt he would thrive in a higher division. He will be firmly in the team come the end of the season.

Also the same goes for Gunnarson. I can see him being the perfect partner for Medal or Kimbo.

Kimbo will flourish, last season was a practice for him.

I feel there are a few from last year who are on the edge of losing out. If someone else comes available them they will be gone. Such players as Maynard, Campbell, Gestede, Taylor and Hudson will go if a replacement can be found.

Finally the rest will be around for a couple of seasons due to them being the younger ones who are well lets say the apprentices now such as Noone, Rall, Nugent, Mason and John. They will be under pressure to improve drastically. The longer they take the more likely a suitable replacement will come on the scene.

You didn't pass maths then? Your saying 19 out of 20 of last year's team will not be playing. There were only 19 of last years squad left until yesterday when McNaughton went on loan, so now it's 18 :-

1 Marshall, 2 Connolly, 3 Taylor, 4 Turner, 5 Whittingham, 6 Gunner, 7 Kimbo, 8 Cowie, 9 Campbell, 10 Bellars, 11 Mutch, 12 Maynard, 13 Lewis, 14 Gestede, 15 Noone, 16 Smith, 17 Mason, 18 Hudson. (not shirt no.s)

Which ONE PLAYER will still be in the team and who will he play with out of the remaining squad :-

1 Caulker, 2 TC, 3 Medel, 4 Cornelius, 5 Odemwingie, 6 Brayford, 7 Maxi, 8 John, 9 Moore.

I don't think many of us would pick Brayford, Maxi, John and Moore ahead of last years team, so if you are right we're left with :-

1 Caulker, 2 TC, 3 Medel, 4 Cornelius, 5 Odemwingie , plus one from the list of 18 above. I don't think you would get far with that team!
