A forum for all things Cardiff City

Why put so much pressure on ourselves. People are setting themselves up for disappointment. We lost to Spurs and it stung, but walking away from that game all I could keep thinking to myself was "we are going to be OK"
We are boringly good, no team will hammer us and we are so disciplined, it may look frustrating, but it will get us through.
A draw at Fulham will feel like winning the FA cup for me, for the first time in my life the performance means as much if not more than the result to me.
In the past we have won games and been dead lucky and that was great, but you can't ride your luck forever. If we go to Fulham expecting to win and it goes wrong, then I am concerned negativity will spread, it's great being the underdog with us getting behind the team and feeling like we are part of it, I dread the occasions when we expect to much and then boo or turn on the team and manager if things don't go our own way.
Let's get behind the team and let them know win lose or draw, if they play to their potential and give us 100% we will always back them.

You are right in essence Gwyn, far too much expectation on this forum. I reckon its to do with the money you have shelled out but still fulham are a good side.
I think its important not to lose though, just psychologically speaking. 1 point per game and you are pretty much on course for a chance of safety, i think 38 points will give you a 50:50 chance.
Lose this game and you are on 5 pts from 6 games and as a result would have dipped below the mark needed which in turn then can put pressure on other games and turn them into must win games. Its always important to stay ahead or equal to the rate required in my opinion.

Same as averaging 2pts per game will get you up 1 point per game will keep you up. we are on course, check it every 5 games and panic when we have to win away.

gywn is right here.you are a new team to the prem playing a established side on a ground where some of the best have come a cropper.a point would be excellent though a win is not impossible.

Draw for me all day tomorrow. Then try and take the game to Newcastle a bit then!

I honestly thought when the fixtures came out, that by the end of September we would have 2 points (nice to be proved wrong), couldn't see us taking anything from WHU, Man City, Everton or Spurs. with draws at Hull and Fulham, so if we get anything on Saturday it will be a bonus.
The big games for us are yet to come, home games against the sides from 8th down, and like I said anything we can get away from home will be a bonus.
But what I have seen from the team so far, I am very pleased, I think we will finish quite comfortable in this division, being hard to beat is always a plus.

I don't recall anyone saying that we NEED a win... Just that one was possible.

Simplistic, but a draw denies Fulham an extra 2 points from what they probably deem a guaranteed 3 points....
