McNaughton has been at Cardiff since leaving Aberdeen in 2006, and has since gone on to make more than 250 appearances for the Bluebirds, making him the longest serving player of the current squad. He recently signed a new 12-month contract at the Cardiff City Stadium, but has featured in just two Capital One Cup ties so far this season. Nicknamed 'The Silver Fox' due to his notorious grey hair, the 31-year-old, whose primary position is as a right-back, is expected to be confirmed as a Wanderers player on Friday morning.

Very misleading title. But if he goes on loan then it is a good move for him. Can't see him playing a lot this season with the cover we have at the back.

No,,,how stupid is Malky. Why pick him for the 25 man squad then let him go? So much for his detailed planning, we now have an official 24 man squad...priceless.

If this is true, it's a shame. He's part ot the PL squad nd although his chances would have been limited this season, I would have liked to have seen him play one or two games. He's been a cracking servant to the club and deserved a crack at the PL in my opinion...
