Lots of people say "not even a striker" but only in name alone.

They are forwards, which is basically the same thing as a striker, just operating slightly off centre a bit like Thierry Henry used to do for Arsenal.

Messi is more of a striker than Ronaldo.

Messi plays central and at the point of the attack.

Ronaldo plays wide left behind Benzema. Cutting inside on his right foot.

Probably in the minority but I prefer watching Ronaldo.

Ronaldo just edges it for me also as he has played in a different league and proved himself. Until Messi comes and shows another league such as the prem or bunda how class he is i dont think you can say he is much better than ronaldo? The pair of them are practically on par and for me ronny edges it as he's proven himself elsewhere and he doesn't play as a direct striker.

In my opinion Ronaldo is still the better player and if I could have either in my side I would pick him, Left,right or down the middle and he is also very good in the air.

I'd pay more to watch Ronaldo than Messi

Sorry lads it's Messi every daybof the week for me. The kid is an absolute football genius. He lacks the physical attributes of being tall, lightning fast and strong like Ronaldo but he still manages to be the best player in the world.

I do think ronaldo is better in the air, has a more powerful shot, is faster etc but to me football is more than that. Messi is the most intelligent footballer I have ever seen. He always seems to pick the right option with the football, some of the areas he drifts into to find space are incredible and he plays as just another part of them team rather than expecting the rest of the team to revolve around him.
Add to this how he has been able to adapt his game from a tricky winger to someone who basically just scores when he wants and to me you have the best player who has ever lived (along with maradona)
