TAN INVESTMENT IN BOSNIAN FOOTBALL :-)

Wed Sep 25, 2013 9:06 pm

This is very interesting for Cardiff City

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has revealed that he will make big investments in Bosnian football after finalising a co-operation agreement between Cardiff City and FK Sarajevo.

Tan has been in talks since earlier in the summer with Sarajevo, who are now official partners of the Premier League outfit.

"We want to give players of Sarajevo the opportunity to play in Cardiff City and in the Premier League," Malaysian-born Tan is quoted as saying by Dnevni avaz.

"We also want to build a football academy that will attract the most talented players from all Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"We will offer them excellent conditions for training and will enable them to play in one of the best leagues in the world.

"Bosnia is full of talents. We have already concluded an agreement on cooperation between the two clubs.

"Cardiff City will also provide technical support in building an academy, we will play friendlies, exchange players and organise joint training camps."

It was also mentioned in the Echo in July: http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/foot ... an-5117417

Anyway, can anyone tell me of th footballing talent they have in Bosnia FFS!!!!

Being a cynic and smeone who has a fair idea about employment laws in this country I would say that he will use this club more to get Malaysian players a EU work entry via Bosnia as they are a very close in becoming a EU state. Then the Malaysian players won't have any work permit problems in playing in the UK like they have recently.

Now as a proud welshman wouldn't you prefer the Capital citys team to encourage more with the children and small clubs within the Welsh nation rather than places like Malaysia and Bosnia..? Unfortunately its hard for me to say but the Jacks are getting into Welsh schools far more than City these days and as a Councillor when I asked City about coming to Merthyr for a kids training day they wanted hundreds of pounds for it. Sad but true :(
