Malky is unfortunately out of his depth at this level and I say that as an admirer of the man but sometimes you have to let your head rule your heart. When you've had nearly 100 shots against you in 5 games then you know that your team is not doing very well in terms of coping.

West Ham - 18 shots against us
Man City - 16 shots against us
Everton - 13 shots against us
Hull City - 18 shots against us
Spurs - 29 shots against us

Grand total = 95.

If we continue that on average this season that would be 722 shots against us this season with an average of 19 per game. That is terrible and at this level you are going to lose points massively if you are letting the opposition have 19 shots on average.

His defensive style is bringing wave after wave of attack upon us and its putting immense pressure upon our defence who rarely get any time to rest.

Yes we have conceded only 6 goals in 5 games and there have been no drubbings but its clear to see to anyone that things don't look good. Malky also is very stubborn and definitely as the OP has pointed out, favourites. This is totally wrong and he should be playing those who deserve it on merit, not those who fit his ethos only.

5 points from a possible 15 is 1/3 and unfortunately if we continue this trend then we are more than likely going back down with 38 points.

Some of our fans are simply deluded. They say 'we cant expect to beat Spurs but we'll pick up points against the lower sides' but they are forgetting these lower sides most of them are still a lot better than us. Sunderland is no easy place to go for a club like us, neither is Newcastle, neither is Norwich, neither is Palace. The truth is, there are no easy games and to just say 'oh well we'll pick up points elsewhere' on a whim as if its some easy feat is ridiculous.

Neil Warnock played a very similar style at QPR in taking them up. Rugged, compact and winning by very close margins. They went back down. Lessons to be learned. Inviting pressure upon yourselves in this league will get you punished plain and simple, the players are vastly more talented. I dread to think what RVP will do to us if he's fit when Man Utd play us.

I'm not going to slate you for this post. I do understand your concerns but I'm afraid I do not share them. I think we should wait & see what unfolds at the home games & a few of the away games against the "lesser" teams. If we do use the same tactics & methods at the likes of Fulham away then I think it would be a cause for concern. But nowhere near to the level your insisting. It's far to early for you to panic.

100% disagree. 4 points at home against Man City, Everton and Spurs, who all came in the top 6 last season is excellent. A large percentage of these shots against us are hopeful, long range efforts as we are organised and defend well to not give away any clear cut chances. If we play more open and attacking, we will get smashed by the better teams in this division. We conceded 3 at West Ham last night playing 4-4-2 and Spurs battering Villa last night shows we did very well to nearly nick a point from them, and Malky should take credit for being seconds away from making that happen. We cannot go out and attack teams who have superior quality to us, we're not Barcelona!

I call upon Tan to sack Mackay without delay.....when i see Mackay,i see a manager totally out of his depth,in my view he is not experience enough to be able to keep us in the Premiership,his lack of tactical ability,which he was able to get away with in the Championship,will not hack it at this level,his inability to get his team to play the full 90 minutes competitively is alarming,his use of substitutions is still one of his many short comings,his willingness to have all ten of our players back to defend a corner kick,is in my view demonstrates his siege mentality,which is fine when your playing one of the top 5 teams,but i fear he will still be ultra defensive when we play so called lesser teams,possibly loosing us valuable points at the end of the day,he is still to loyal to some of his players,who clearly are not up to Premiership standard(i think you know the players in question),he will continue to select them in front of other better equipped players we have in our squad,also Mackay is a manager who will revert to type and get his players to play hoof ball,which is a tactic totally out of place in the Premiership,i think a study was done recently where it was found,out of all the other Premiership teams,including Palace,Hull and Stoke,we played the long ball game more than any other team in the league,in essence he is still,very much a Championship Manager,we need someone right now with Premiership experience,we can not afford to wait for Mackay to gain that experience,if in fact he is able to, i strongly believe that our owner,who has invested millions of pounds in our club,will not sit on his hands for ever and watch Mackay wreck his investment,so l appeal to Tan to get rid of Mackay sooner than later before he inflicts more damage on our hopes of staying in this division

Who gives a crap about the amount of shots, its goals that count and we have conceed very few against very good teams.

You can't say that for certain as you don't know. Plenty of teams have played open against the likes of Everton, WBA being one, and have beat them.

Apart from the 3 teams we have played then only Man U , Liverpool , Chelsea , Arsenal and Swansea remain a threat at home and Im sure Malky will adopt the same tactics against them ...... its the likes of Newcastle up next and the others in the Prem League where we may see a totally different approach to tactics for home games ??

Tactics were fine against 3 of last seasons top 6, so much so we only lost because of a 93rd minute goal. How would you play them? Open, attacking and get a hammering?...we cannot outplay the biggest teams.
