PUTNEY PUBS/FREE CAR PARKING FOR FULHAM GAME IN PUTNEY

Tue Sep 24, 2013 1:13 pm

Gents,

Seen a thread asking for car parking recommendations for Fulham away. Having lived in Putney for 30 years got a decent spot I can recommend.

Wildcroft Road up on Putney Heath link below is convenient and free.
It’s a long road and gets busy but you will find a spot further down. You are close to South Circular and M4 here. Or adjacent to A3/M25 and M4. There is a bus stop up here as well, so you can get Number 14 or 85 bus down Putney Hill onto Putney High Street and stop off or go over bridge to Fulham and walk across to ground. Also a good pub called the Green Man opposite the bus stop which is worth a pint!

In terms of pubs. If you want to drink down by the river you have The Rocket (a smart Wetherspoons, there is such a thing with seating outside, opposite river and the Boathouse pub adjacent, these are on the right hand side as you are heading over bridge to Fulham.

On left had side along the river is the Dukes Head which is expensive beer but great spot. The best pub in my opion is across road from Dukes Head tucked up side road but you can will see it from Lower Richmond Road. Its called the Bricklayers Arms and has won awards for it's real ale. This is where Fulham fans drink but away fans welcome.

There are is also another wetherspoons (The Railway) at top of High Street and 3 other pubs on the High St which are all pretty average but convenient if you are walking from top of Putney down hill.

Best drinking down by river is weather is good.

Good luck and can't wait to see all you Bluebirds in Putney and Fulham

good intel mate thanks - was going to drop car in Hammersmith and walk down but this sounds even better, especially if free. will be fairly early as travelling across from Dulwich so hopefully get one of those free spots you mention. :ayatollah:
