Everyone needs to calm down...just my opinion

Mon Sep 23, 2013 12:10 pm

It seems like the place is in meltdown after loosing 1-0 at home to a title contending side in the last minute

first point is that I've seen people calling for Gunnarson to be dropped which is Ludicrous, he has had 1 bad game maybe 2 so far this season and IMO has been one of our most important players this season.
At the end of the day this is my opinion on things, and it may not coincide with yours reading this but...

In order to survive in the premier league, a team needs to be hard to beat.

and where we may not be the most attacking, free fast flowing attacking team in the division. like last season. we are very hard to beat. we are well organised at the back and all the players knew what they are supposed to do. yesterday was a tough pill to swallow because of the nature of when their goal came being in the 3rd of 4 added on minutes, but the people saying the tactics were too negative etc. if we had opened up and gone for it from the start. they have too much quality and would have gone on to hit us for 5 or even possibly 6 even with Marshall in the form he was in.

the side we have is a side that is being very hard to beat. especially at home. we beat the title favourites at home, held a strong Everton side to a 0-0 draw and held out a spurs side (which will be easily top 3/4 at the end of the season) until the 93rd minute, after we had a goal disallowed, had a foul against us in the play leading up to the goal, a referee that seemed hellbent on a Spurs win (or at least allowing their players to be getting away with challenges bordering on assault) and they could have possibly had their keeper sent off after 6 minutes for handball.

Even AVB said the CCS will be a difficult place to come for every team and he also said that not many teams will come here and take the points.

I'm happy with the way we are playing. especially after i only predicted us having 2 points at this stage before the season started. there is a long way to go and we will be safe come may.

I agree mate. We had our chances but didn't take them. We need to stop giving the ball away and we will be fine. :ayatollah:

No panic as far as I'm concerned if we continue to play with the same intensity we will pick up the points needed to survive. Fulham away and Newcastle home are a far more realistic game to access where we are.

Agree with the top post, Kim also needs to build slight more confidence with shooting whilst on goal

I think we're doing well enough - probably better than many of us would have hoped for in fairness.

We just need to take the chances we're creating - we can't afford not to if we play in such a way that invites teams to attack us.

Rocky used to absorb all those punches but he got a good few hits in himself - they'd have been shit films otherwise... ;)
