Man united v man city

They call it a derby but that game is just a rivalry

You asked the question I gave you the answer? pool v united is a derby just like the severn side derby is a derby, as Is any London club derby a derby! You can't move the goalposts, but thats where the hatred lies more than any other. ;)

Man united and Liverpool ain't a derby, they don't call Everton and man city a derby do they?

Most people on here seem to disagree, which is fair enough, but, for me, a derby is between two clubs in the same city. Or, in London's case, the same part of that city. Like Charlton v Millwall this morning.

Rivalries can be between any clubs. Like us and Bristol City, or Swansea.

Been to a Wolves v West Brom game with a Wolves fan before. They can be very tasty!

Liverpool and Manchester are closer together than Swansea and Cardiff are...?

United v City is more intense than it has been in years due to City's recent success, there has been incidents off the field in most of the games between the two over the past 3 or 4 seasons.

Yes,but how many clubs in between them,a derby for me is two teams that are closest together

The manchester one has gone to a higher level recently.

I think the 'regional' derbies carry the most genuine hatred/animosity though. South wales, south coast, north west etc.
A lot of inter city derbies are tempered because of family and friendship. (Perhaps not glasgow!)
