Ex City failure/flop signs for new club

Fri Sep 20, 2013 10:37 pm

Lee Naylor signs for Accrington Stanley.

Maybe I was a bit harsh, but I will never forget Watford running rings around him at Vicarage rd and I could not believe Dave Jones kept giving him so many chances.

Did he not go to Doncaster from us?

He had 1 or 2 good games, His goal was class against Leeds at Elland Rd. But I agree he was a bad signing overall. Not as bad as the likes of Jloyd Samuel & JET though.

Did really well in a few games under Malky. Not really as bad as everyone makes out.

I do think League 2 is too low a level for him, League 1 more his standard.

Good luck to him anyway!

Not a fialure or flop. Merely a player who was a scapegoat for fans after Dave Jones misused his talents. In his minimal appearances for Cardiff under Malky, he looked the part and was great cover for Taylor

Played a blinder v Birmingham, MOTM when we won 1-0 with a Miller goal for me.

Always thought he was abetter player than he got credit for. He did have an absolute shocker that day at Watford though, but so did Darcy Blake.

Was an OK player but not terrible by any means, just a bit underwhelming maybe.

I thought he retired. He was terrible in his first season, he scored two goals but that was the only good thing IMO. In his second season with us he didn't play many games but he looked like a different player and I remember his game against Birmingham where he did very well to keep out Burke. So good luck to him now. Once a Bluebird always a Bluebird!

He was one of those signings that made me wonder what DJ was thinking - an ageing left back whose legs had probably seen better days...

Watched him get murdered at Vicarage Rd - clearly out of his depth at that stage. But to be fair my next memory of him was at home against Leeds - we won 2-1 after a pretty barren run (I think) - and played his heart out.

Good luck to him.
