For years my (and mates) matchday ritual has involved (after a long drive up from Cornwall), heading for Ninian pub before the game. Before heading stadium for a Clarkie. Made decision this season to gead Canton before game instead. Which pub best atmosphere (walking up from ground) ?

It depends what you're after mate. If you want a shit pint served in a plastic glass surrounded by old school City fans then try the Butchers.

try the canton(don't confuse with the canton cross) opposite the Corporation on Llandaff rd, good beer, quick service and a good mix of fans starting to get away fans in there as well

Try The Westgate. Not in town, not in Canton, so not too busy and good food and drink in there.
