Good to see a club listening to their fans.

Wish ours would do the same:

Everton fans protest over new badge

Everton FC are to restore the club's motto to their crest after its removal prompted outrage from thousands of fans.

The motto Nil Satis Nisi Optimum, which means "nothing but the best is good enough", dates back 75 years but disappeared as part of a redesign.

The club apologised in May after 22,000 fans signed an online petition condemning the "awful" 2013-2014 badge.

Fans can vote on three new designs on the club website from Monday.

Everton FC club crest history

Everton's first club crest in 1920 had the letters EFC in white entwined on a blue shield
In 1938, Prince Rupert's Tower, which stands on Everton Brow in Liverpool, and two wreaths replaced the lettering. The club's motto was added below the shield

The first shirt badges featuring the letters EFC were introduced in 1972, with the crest being used in various forms from 1978 onwards
Club communications director Alan Myers said: "There were clear messages that have come out from fans as to what they want.

"The motto Nil Satis Nisi Optimum will be on the new crest because 95% to 96% of fans said they want it and that's what we wanted."

Everton consulted more than 200,000 fans and also players following criticism of the "embarrassing" new crest.

The club said one fan travelled from Spain to Goodison Park to have his say about the redesign - even though he was advised an online form was available.

The new crest ideas will be unveiled on Monday 23 September.

Unfortunately we all know the club will never canvas the fans on the crest ( or if they do it will be like the shorts - so which choice of 5 shit crests would you like ) . Something to do with a dragon protecting a bluebird and enabling us to crack the Asian market apparently.

They only had a minor change as well, good on the Everton fans for standing up to it.

Some of our fans only care about Premier League football so they fully embrace the changes. Sad really.

FFS like this hasn't been discussed over and over and over again

I appreciate people have a right to post what they want but what more is there to say on this that hasn't already been said literally thousands of times already

Everton, a club with much more history than us, pretty much safe in term of club security. Compared to us who were on the verge of going bust

Do you really think 22,000 fans would sign a petition against the new badge. Or even red or blue for that matter. We'd be lucky to get 5,000 voting. :malky:

Think any survey done to season ticket holders would get a very high response rate . However that is not going to happen

Not 22,000, but I believe we'd get a big number.

You need to realise that Everton are a huge club compared to us (no matter what Gwyn has told you :laughing6: ).

So has the rebrand.

Just because something has already been debated on this forum, it doesn't mean that it can't be debated again. If you don't want to debate something then don't click on the thread, the title clearly shows what the thread is about.

Where did I say I didn't want to discuss it again? I just mentioned that it had already been discussed. Stop assuming.

What can any of us do about the rebrand? The only thing to do is protest, which BU is doing.
