Cardiff have today announced they have officially appointed a Supporters Liaison Officer.
Club appoints Supporters' Liaison Officer
In line with UEFA regulations, Cardiff City Sales and Marketing Manager Tom Gorringe has been appointed as the club’s new Supporters' Liaison Officer.
Following a review by the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee, all Premier League clubs must appoint a SLO, who will be responsible for delivering the club's policy to supporters.
The SLO will act as a point of contact for fans, and liaise with the club's management on the issues raised.
Tom said, “This role provides a great mechanism for improved communication between the fans and the club, which is hugely important in improving the support journey moving forward.
“Given my current role at the club, fan queries and concerns can be raised at management meetings with issues resolved efficiently.
“At Cardiff City we want to provide the best possible match day experience and we hope that this will provide a strong foundation to ensure that ethos goes from strength to strength.”
Alongside his work in the commercial department, Tom’s role will be to administer queries from fans regarding all aspects of the club including the match-day experience and quality of service given by all club touch points.

Either I have missed something or Tom Gorringe was appointed SLO months ago, there is a new Marketing Executive who was appointed recently so maybe someone sent the wrong info out

You are all right in most of what you are saying but the reality is that the role is now official after a few months preparation. There is still more work to be done and I will let Tom make the announcement on how he intends to facilitate the role. I have been helping him during the last couple if months with ideas from the meetings I attend with the FSF and the FSE who have great experience of SLO work, especially in Germany,he is looking to use a lot of the good practice from that and also introduce his own ideas.
It will be a useful new role that should be of assistance to fans in our stadium and when we travel away but will take time to develop and will see volunteers from amongst the fans getting involved.

Does the ticket office fiasco come under his remit - I mean, should I/we feedback to him on specific issues?

If questions are allowed to be answered corky, I think it was made aware by a Swansea fan that the PL had given each club 200,000 pounds for fan experience? How has this been spent to reward Cardiff fans? I'm aware of the continued awards and praise our away experience is for away fans but when will home fans/away fans of Cardiff be seeing this money spent on them?(Example of the money being spent is free hot food for Swansea fans)
Cheers.

£25,000 will be used to subsidise travel to Norwich if the full allocation of 30 coaches is taken up, other initiatives are being looked into to benefit our fans and fans that visit our stadium...yes I agree that is the sort of question Tom would be expected to get an answer to.
