Got to go into Hospital later today for my back to be sorted out. been 10 years now since we drew against Swindon Town at home. When i did it in on the way home. Anyway, after 10 yrs of pain and suffering with Sciatica down my right side, it will get sorted hopefully today.
Anyone had similar experiences with Sciatica??? and did they cure it! really missing running and kicking a ball about; and my missus is getting a little bit pissed off as well.
hope it gets done once and for all

I had 2 discs repaired in S1/2 area 20months since. Still with sciatica right through to my foot. Trouble is the nerve gets stuck in scar tissue although i can now walk without looking like a pensioner on acid the numbness in the foot makes it difficult to play sport etc. Better with no shoes on too! Also got twatted off my enfield recently which did it no good. Just saw the ortho doc who cant say whethrr back is worse or not as it was fkd anyway. But shd get 5k rom insurance soicitors. My advice is dont push urself too hard post op. They have probably told you no guarantees with sciatica as i was. Plus side is no pain anymore just this numbness but good luck to you.

I had exactly the same problem. Was a storekeeper in Sharpe & Fisher builders' merchants in Schooner way, in the old West Dock. My back had been getting worse for a while, then one day it went completely in work. November 1982, when i was 24. Ambulance to CRI. To cut a very long story short, I had an op in Rhydlafar hospital in February 1983. Laminectomy, they called it. And it did work. Was back in work by October the same year. Took a while to build up strength again, remember having hydrotherapy in the Heath hospital, but never really had any recurrence of the problem. Still aware of it today, and am very careful, but its been fine ever since.
That was a long time ago. Presumably, treatment is better today.
Best of luck. Don't rush it, try and be patient. Hope they manage to sort it out for you.
