My ticket has my photo on it, the matches I can't make I let relatives use it and they have had no problem whatsoever. If he goes and asks for a paper ticket for a friend they will just release his seat to gold members.
You should be ok using it as long as you are in the catagorey of the ticket. i.e. an adult using an adults ticket and not an adult using a junior/senior ticket

It can be used by some one of the same age

Strictly, you're not supposed to. I've done it before with people in the same category and its fine. There's always the small risk that you could be stopped though.

if he phones up the ticket office saying hes forgotten his card? would they reserve him a paper ticket or something? and when would you have to phone up?

If you forget your ticket, you have to collect a paper copy from the ticket office & it's £5 I believe to do so.
Obviously it will have to be him that picks it up too as they have the photo on database.

Well don't give it away then.. That simple.
You should be fine as long as its in the same age range, but the club would be within their rights to stop them from coming in.

Tell your mate just to give it to the other mate , I've never had my s/ticket looked at not saying it doesn't happen. I will do the same this season if I can't make a game & give it to one of the boys.

Its fine to use another person card as long as they are in the same catagory. No one has ever checked my card or my friends cards. Only reason they would check is maybe if say an adult came though on a childs card etc.
If you want a paper ticket I believe you can pay £5 for one.

If he wants to do it by the book, then he needs to be a gold member, and go to the ticket office to 'upgrade'.

The season ticket is not transferable Luke, so if he does allow somebody else to use his card, he's taking a chance which a lot of people take!
As already stated though, not many cards get checked, so if he wants to allow somebody else to use is card, then he ought to at least ensure that the person using his card is in a similar age category!

So the back says but ive never ever seen them check a normal adult ticket. what would be the point?
As long as it isnt a andult trying to get through on a kids ticket or something where the club are due money.
My sister and dad have shared a season ticket for years because they cant make all the games. Infact my dad is old enough to claim the OAP one but they buy the more expensive adult ticket to allow both to use it.
Ive phoned the ticket office in the past and told them one person had the card and we couldnt get it so they printed off another ticket for me with no problem.
If its the same catogory then I really cant see any problem.

I completely understand what you are saying Luke, but the club don't see it that way!
My teenage son couldn't make one game last season, so I took my adult mate along to the ticket office on the day of the match and offered to pay an upgraded price, which the previous season had been costing me around £13-£15 to upgrade his ticket!
Due to the new dynamic pricing, the ticket office quoted me a price of nearly £40, so I just took a chance and we walked in together without being checked!
Wed Sep 18, 2013 11:51 am
Yeah I guess thats the problem with different age catogories and upgrading.
Thats why my dad paid the extra from OAP to Adult, cost more but it means its an adult ticket.

My dad couldn't make it to the Everton game so I took someone else instead who happens to be female, she used my dad's season ticket card and there were no problems at all. The stewards were checking the cards but they didn't even look at the photo, they just checked to see you were entering the correct aisle.
I knew the risk but we weren't that bothered if we weren't allowed in so I used it as a test to see if the stewards cared, and they didn't.

I guess it's only a problem when someone is paying less than what they should be paying
