People who go there really dont give a shit what they put in their families mouths!!! You may as well go to the other supermarkets and buy nothing else apart from their value brands!!!

A supermarket, a large form of the traditional grocery store, is a self-service shop offering a wide variety of food and household products, organized into aisles. It is larger in size and has a wider selection than a traditional grocery store, but is smaller and more limited in the range of merchandise than a hypermarket or big-box market.
The supermarket typically comprises meat, fresh produce, dairy, and baked goods aisles, along with shelf space reserved for canned and packaged goods as well as for various non-food items such as kitchenware, household cleaners, pharmacy products and pet supplies. Some supermarkets also sell a variety of other household products that are consumed regularly, such as alcohol (where permitted), medicine, and clothes, and some stores sell a much wider range of non-food products: DVDs, sporting equipment, board games, and seasonal items (e.g., Christmas wrapping paper in December).

They would probably get more selection and save money at the same time buy buying a value range from another supermarket

a large convience store could be classed as a supermarket going by your comment then which is the point I was trying to make

so they either chase the low prices or not..? and if they were chasing completely low prices then you could get a cheaper than just by buying a value range than going to the likes of Lidl, Aldi etc

Lidl is by far cheaper than the green grocers and butchers.

Nah, supermarkets have chains of stores turning over hundreds of millions of pounds. They also have the TV advertising to match. Large con...argh whats the point in arguing with someone that sells £8.00 mugs.... :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6:

It's all about square footage, convenience stores are anywhere up to 3k sq ft
Large convenience stores go up to 6k (I believe - will double check this when I've finished putting out my delivery!)
Then you have a few in betweens before you go to supermarket

I'll try and chase numbers in a bit

Technically I'm afraid it is a Supermarket but I would better classify it as a discount supermarket. The thing is it doesn't really matter, because the prices are so great, and its such a great place to work and it does something magical to its customers and staff.

Just watch this video and you will see what I mean. :D

Yes, we've got a fair size one in Dinas, Porth, we shop there regularly, Aldi's is also a supermarket, used them all the time in Australia.

Brownie talking utter nonsense again.

Often get my parma or serrano ham and parmesan cheese from Aldi's. Some nice balsamic vinegar and roughly chopped tomatoes and red onions. Glorious meal.

Parmesan cheese the more mature the better Brownie.

You can get some nice feta cheese there. Air packed tight in brine or water.

I alternate mate, dont go there every week, its good value for some things not for others. Youd be surprised, I was once I dropped the "Im not shopping in Aldis" snobbery, theres some really nice food to be had there.

However, for things for the kids pack lunches, and cosmetics its not the best tbh so no I couldnt do a full weekly shop there without going somewhere else.

I would call it a convenience store or a mini-market rather than a supermarket tbh.
