AWAY KIT ON SATURDAYI

Mon Sep 16, 2013 9:35 am

I got to be honest and this is not a rebrand rant. I have embraced the colour change because it has been for the benefit of the Club as a whole. that said: it has not gone down well with many city fans who hold dear to their hearts and, i understand their frustrations as, there is many years of many fond memories of the times at NP and now CCS, in its tratitional colour of Blue.

Without being biased against blue and being happy in playing in Red because it is relatively a new concept that has yet to be realised and, not forgetting the tradition of the Clubs past of blue-I thought Saturday playing in Blue they looked really good and that what Cardiff City is really all about. They looked brilliant and, for some bizzare reason that i cannot explain, it felt as if the past and present were united perfectly and it brought the fans' closer together which i believe epitomizes what is so special about this football club.

Playing in Blue Saturday brought all the years flooding back from the 80s and 90s. and It got me thinking how proud it made me feel seeing them decked out in blue! because of all the times through them years but, now it was of course playing as a Premier League Club. Bringing this thread up to the present, I am still for the rebrand because it brings parity to everything that other teams over the bridge dont want us to have. They would like us to fall and, force us so far back that it would be too far back for us to dominate and compete on a same level. Now, I believe being in Red allows us to be on the front foot and, that is what cardiff and its supporters do so well,in my opinion.

The Blue kit will never be forgotton and on Saturday Cardiff in Blue were resplendent!! :notworthy: 8-) :laughing5:  :ayatollah:

I disagree with you on the rebrand, which is something that appals and sickens me.

However, the rest of the thread is nice to read. That's the reality of blue..we would be in a better, more united position as a club.

Same as Hull and Watford away at the end of last season. Realistically, our best hope is to keep blue as one of our away kits, and when the current PL/Tan era has passed, (as it will), then switch back to blue at home. Important also to keep the bluebird, and change the badge around too.

Why would a new owner change it back if Tan has already put in (some or perhaps all) red seats and a significant proportion of the fanbase don't care?

I honestly believe that a post-Tan, non PL owner will revert to blue. What has happened to us is unique. At some point we will be relegated. There is still a considerable number of fans who are unhappy about the 'rebrand'. When times are not so good, we tend to go back to our history and to our traditions. A lot of the fan base who don't care will be gone. These things go in cycles.

Of course the significant proportion care they just care more for the financial well being and stability of the club ahead of their own preference regarding a colour.
Those significant proportion as you put it probably care more for the club than you so stop having a pop at other fellow city fans, its not needed .

whichever side of the divide everyone is on, no one can deny the input Tan has done, off the pitch. He has steadied the financial state of the Club, ok financially it is now a more attractive proposition for the business community than NP ever is..so to be fair it is not out of the question for a change of direction. Fans will never be satisfied whoever is in charge of Cardiff. There will always be a diversity in the politic of CCFC. But that is the reason why the club has survived and come out of the bad times. It may take a little longer to get the traditional city fan to catch up.

to be really picky, I don't like the blue shorts - but I am a bit old, and just love traditional blue top, white shorts, white socks, simple bluebird logo :old:

all that said, I welcome Vinnie's investment and thank him for helping put my club where it is now.
