Sun Sep 15, 2013 11:24 pm

Quality of food is rubbish, they don't give a shit about the local communities and they take money out of the area!!!

Buy from your local shops!!!! Fruit from fruit shops, meat from butchers and so on!!!

Don't br a lazy b*stard and choose the supermarket because everything is under one roof!!!!

Local shops are more expensive. That's pretty much it to be honest.

It shows that because it costs a few pence less that people are prepared to feed their families rubbish food.

I get my meat from the butchers but I get everything else from the supermarket.

Mostly water in supermarket meat these days. How can you expect to get any gains with that pumped rubbish? :old:

Brownie what a stupid post, the supermarkets are not a couple of pence cheaper, they are a lot cheaper, I'm glad you have enough money to pay way over the odds in your local shop, the proprietor must think you are something special and has an alter where he worships you,a lot of us today have not got the money to do that, and when shopping look for the last, best before items, and special offers, so give it a rest

Thats like saying why do you supply labour to BIGGER building companys doing bigger jobs than your general builder even though you know theres no comparison in terms of size, yet you wouldnt get the rates from the general builder to make your bit ontop, your post makes no sence because your doing the same with your recruitment company daily as bigger equals better deals even in supermarkets you speak of

I bet half the people who have posted on here haven't been to their local fruit and veg shop for years and are just brought into the propaganda that your local shops are more expensive but thats not so in all cases especially fruit and veg.

All I ask is for one week only just try it and see what you think..?

I shop at Waitrose for two main reasons:
1: Its great quality.
2: I have been shagging the manageress and the girl on checkout number two for the last eight months.

well personally I think everyone should be concerned of local shops closing down, the amount of local taxes which are collected from a standard shop units like your butchers/fruit shops etc go into local issues (eg education, highways and so on), the profits which are made by the local shop are mostly all put back into the local economy which once again benefits everyone. Whereas you look at the supermarkets then most of them have agreements with local councils before locating to sites whereas they pay no rates whatsoever so the local issues lose out there, their profits go to their head office so hardly any of it goes back into the local community and also people have said that they bring jobs to an area where recently there has been studies which prove that they actually take morejobs out of an area then what they bring in because of the amount of businesses which close due to them opening up somewhere nearby.
