O/T ....Phones

Looking for a comparison from anyone who has had an iphone and a samsung galaxy s3.

I am leaning towards the s3.

I had an iPhone and went to the s4 and would never go back now, s4 much slicker and the little things all add up to a better experience.
My girlfriend has the s3 and she is very happy with it.

Iphones are basic and easy to use, and good at that.
The Samsungs are a lot more versatile and can be customised a lot more.

Agree with this totally. Had iPhone 4s for a couple of years and changed to Galaxy S4 about 3 months ago now. Would not change back to iPhone. More flexibility and better options on the S4. (Not sure of difference with S3 though)

With the s3/4 you can download and change your keyboard, loads to choose from, all different types that can be customised.

I was the same, loved my iPhone 3g, 4s I planned on getting the 5 but it seemed to a nothing phone and new they would release a newer one in a few months (they just have). That's why I went for the s4 and would never go back.

But I think your point is correct iPhone is easier to use, just a lot more limited

I switched from Blackberry to iPhone 5 only few weeks ago.

I can see why everyone has one these days.

Not bothered about what phone I have but got a really good deal so silly not to pass it up considering the amount some people pay for it.

My mam, brother and his girlfriend have the Galaxys different models though but they love them. I am not a fan but depends what you are use to.

S4 is the better phone technically. I see it as a phone with a load of stuff I don't need.

Just an update here, i've definitely had my head turned!

The mrs has just gone from an iphone 4s to a galaxy S4 - what an amazing phone! If I didnt have stuff invested in apple products (music & books) then i'de make the change myself!

And before anyone says it, I don't have an ipad to move these things too! So for that reason ONLY i'll get the 5s.

Would recommend the new S4 to anyone though! Can't fault it! Big improvement on the S2 (that I mentioned earlier in the thread)

That's is the exact reason I left apple, being trapped with your purchases. Music you can switch over with a simple program on your computer. Not sure about books as never bought any but I'd bet ready them on an s4 would be much better for size alone.

I still like apple personally, jsut because of how easy and accessible everything is, and just how much content there is available.

But comparing my 4s to the S4 - Samsung definitely wins, i'll still go for the 5s in Dec/Jan myself, but if I had an iPad, I wouldn't hesitate about switching! Both excellent phones, but I LOVE gadgets, and the S4 is miuch better for it, bigger, nicer screen with a great crisp picture, and better camera.

No doubt about it, iPhone and I pads, apple = easy.

I love gadgets but I'm not so bright on them but researched a lot and the stuff 'clever' people can do on the s4 is amazing.

Got my dvd collection on an sd card on my s4, ideal for flights etc

My brother in law can agree with that, had to send his to new Zealand twice for fixing overall 3 months

Their terrible mate, would rather talk through a polystyrene cup. Had 5 chargers in the last few months.

I use swiftkey, you can get a free trial and if you like it then its about £1.50, i bought it as I liked it but others available for free. I quite like Swyping to txt
