Let's not forget that Connolly had 2 very good games against Man City and Everton before this.
As a right-back last season, KTC made two assists... but also kept only 2 clean sheets. The mistakes he made in the Hull game would suggest why.
And like Connolly, he is more of a centre-back by trade (even though he played most of his games last season as a full-back), so we're back to the same issue of playing a centre-back out of position!
I thought it was harsh leaving Connolly out of the squad altogether and there's no reason to suggest, based on his last 2 performances, he would have been any worse than KTC.

I honestly don't understand this new obsession with stats in football. Just because KTC only had 2 assists last season doesn't mean shit. He may have created a thousand chances but had shit strikers in his team who missed them all. And what do you mean he only kept one clean sheet. Last time I looked this was down to 11 players not just one!
If you watch saturdays game it would be impossible to come away thinking that connolly is a more natural full back that theophile. He gave us width, got forward at every opportunity and his stats should already read 'one assist for cardiff' cos gunnarsson should have scored.
Judging by saturday, the lad looks a superb acquisition for 2 million
