http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2cC_RQyhP8Worrying hull city chairman quoted they should be called Cardiff Dargons Vincent tan was laughing his head off!!
Take your own guesses but it looked like it was on his agenda and he knew it won't go down well with fans the way he laughed.....
He was praising the hull chairman for name change!!!!!!

some will laugh it off again and belittle fans who dare be against it
Tan having a good laugh with the Hull chairman about names and how short ones are the best, when asked about us changing name he paused and said thinking about it.

I'm with you all we need is to get each of our 30k or so fans to part with 10 grand and it'll be sorted!

I don't think it'll happen any time soon, he's considered it but he knows that he'd lose a lot of fans and there's no logic behind it, the board members would ask what it brings due to United, Liverpool not having animals/mythical creatures in their official club name. People take thing's to heart so easily, he's a troll, the slightest thing and everyone cries.

No he didn't. The Hull Chairman said, "Cardiff Bluebirds." Mr Tan looked embarrassed. The interviewer then said, "Cardiff Dragons, perhaps?" Cue for Tan to smile from ear to ear.

Lets be honest here, Tan is going to change our name and most fans dont care, they will put Glory over anything.

Or they will just support their team and don't care, not everyone is a long term fan who has a strong affection to the club, they have other things to do bar watch a football team. Quick judgement.

Not for me annis if we lose the city and replace it with dragons I'm gone. I don't think we had any option than accept the colour change for survival but I suspect a large amount of people will say its still Cardiff city. Once it's Cardiff dragons to me that's a different club and a proper identity change which is unacceptable personally.

At what point does 'their team' no longer become their team?
I'm pretty sure that the overwhelming majority would continue to attend games at CCS even if the club were renamed something risibly stupid like 'Cardiff Dragons' or 'Cardiff Reds' but those still attending would be merely fans of football in Cardiff. They most certainly would not be fans of Cardiff City/The Bluebirds. They would just be 'consumers' of a new brand.

Here we go lets get our knickers in a knot about hyperthetical shit again!!!!

Phil, I will 100% stop going and I will never return till he has gone and our full name is back.

Hull chairman says theres no need for teams to be called, city, united or county, said cardiff should be called dragons.Later he says all teams should have a dynamic name, comparing football teams to google, apple etc. Also said if he owned man city they would be called manchesters hunters!!!!!

I dont think he will change the name but if he did then it would be hard to go back and support what wouldnt be my club anymore.

It would be a bad move by him but he's still done more for the club than most ever would. Cardiff Dragons or no club? The choice would be obvious.
Plus, the fans would still call them Cardiff City anyway. Hull City will always be Hull City to me.

And this ladies and gentleman will be the attitude of the vast majority of Cardiff City fans and it's the reason why Tan can pretty much do as he pleases - such is the submissive nature of most Cardiff fans.

Cardiff Dragons or no club?
That would, in reality means the club that you currently support ceases to exist surely??

Why would that be the choice a lot of debts are cleared now and with the Prem money also , its not the same situation as the kit
Sat Sep 14, 2013 4:23 pm
He hasnt done it yet until he does i will carry on but to be fair the rebrand has caused so much upset with some of us for that would be a step way to far to change the name i am still pissed right off about the terrible red kit and badge .
Tan can laugh all he likes but i can tell you now us fans aint laughing we are proud of cardiff city fc and the history and identity of the club Tan can go f**k him self the prick.

Annis i have been a tan fan,the rebrand was a bitter pill to swallow, but a name change will be a step to far
Sat Sep 14, 2013 4:44 pm
In regard to damage limitation from Tan's point of view - If he was ever going to change the name to Dragons, he really should have done it along with the rest of the rebrand when we were up against the wall and in the Championship. Now he would just create the same level of ****storm all over again, but this time with ten times the media back lash.

No it doesn't. Big companies rip off and disrespect their customers all the time. He could easily pluck up 15,000 fans out of nowhere if he goes and brings in more quality players and we start getting top ten finishes. All here for the quality players and the Premier League boom.
I don't expect any loyalty from CCFC, I'm a customer
