Getting more farcical by the minute! Coleman out...

Defender James Collins has denied Wales boss Chris Coleman's suggestion that he refused to play for his country.
Coleman claimed the West Ham player rejected the chance to join the squad ahead of Tuesday's 3-0 defeat to Serbia after suspension and injury had ruled out Ashley Williams and Sam Ricketts.

But Collins said: "I was not contacted by Chris Coleman or anyone at the FAW to request I join up with the squad.
"Had I been asked I would have gladly represented my country."

Coleman opted for Swansea full-back Ben Davies to partner Crystal Palace's Danny Gabbidon, even though Davies had never played in central defence at a professional level.
"It has to mean everything to turn up to play for Wales - if it doesn't, then don't turn up," Coleman said.
"James explained to me that he didn't want to come into the squad after being on standby because psychologically he was disappointed. But that's not the attitude I'm looking for."

In a statement released on Wednesday evening, 30-year-old Collins said he felt "obliged to set the record straight".
He added: "I did have a conversation with Chris to try to seek clarification on why I had been left out of the initial squad for both the Macedonia and the Serbia matches - but at no stage did I state that I would refuse to play for Wales.
"I am proud to come from Wales and even prouder to pull on the red shirt of my country so the suggestion that I would ever refuse to play for them is plainly wrong."

The defeat to Serbia, coupled with Scotland's 2-1 win in Macedonia, left Wales bottom of their World Cup qualifying group with two matches remaining.

This is the best thing to happen. The more fractions in the camp the more likely it is that Coleman will be gotten rid of.

Clownman is a fooking disgrace, the guy honestly has no idea how to conduct himself in the manner befitting his role. Pub manager at best, tanning assistant I think is more suitable for him :clown:

So basically it looks like Coleman is lying and stirring shit to take attention away from his shitness. Everyone's fault but his. This is not how any manager should behave, even if Collins did say that, things like that should never be aired in public. He's got to go.

Players won't trust him with comments like this especially when not true and he'll lose the dressing room if he hasn't already.

West Ham United defender James Collins has denied claims that he refused to answer a Wales call-up for the World Cup qualifier against Serbia.

National team coach Chris Coleman alleged that the centre-back turned down the opportunity to join up with the squad and questioned the player's attitude.

"I was not contacted by Chris Coleman or anyone at the FAW to request I join up with the squad," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "Had I been asked I would have gladly represented my country."

With Ashley Williams and Sam Ricketts ruled out through suspension and injury, Coleman was forced to play Ben Davies and Danny Gabbidon at the back in Collins's absence.

"I did have a conversation with Chris to try to seek clarification on why I had been left out of the initial squad for both the Macedonia and the Serbia matches - but at no stage did I state that I would refuse to play for Wales," he added.

"I am proud to come from Wales and even prouder to pull on the red shirt of my country so the suggestion that I would ever refuse to play for them is plainly wrong."

Wales lost the match 3-0, a result which saw them sink to the bottom of their qualifying group.

Time these two sorted it out. The Wales football team is bigger than either of them. Shake hands, and get on with it.

Coleman probably forgot to phone Collins, just like last week he forgot his passport.

Best thing they could do in the circumstances. Coleman can't afford to be doing a Toshack and alienating his experienced players, and Collins doesn't want to start stirring in the press if he wants to continue playing for Wales - maybe he knows how negative the fans are towards Coleman and isn't bothered about sticking the knife in.

Not that I'm taking sides here...

I think Collins is well within his rights to go public with this in reply to Colemans accusation, totally unacceptable for a team manager to put this in the public domain and a very unprofessional try at blame deflection.

It should never have come down to this. Collins is playing well this season for a Premiership team. Chris Coleman fucked up by not picking him. Collins should not only have been in the squad but actually playing.

Would anyone else put Gabbidon in instead of Collins....I know I wouldn't.
