I remember being out for my nan's birthday meal and seeing the TVs

Gone but not forgotten

I was in Florida at the time and the reaction from the Americans was swift. Every single radio station became patriotic to a new level. It really hit them a lot harder than any of us could imagine. You had to be there to witness it.

My daughter got stuck on Hawaii when the Americans grounded all flights. Interestingly though the japanese flew jumbo after jumbo to the islands the next day and evacuated all those Japanese that wanted to leave. Took my daughter 5 days before she could fly home
